Rumors recently have the Rangers interested in acquiring Jordan Greenway, from the Sabers. There reasoning is they want more physical players on the roster. So that should be interesting to see if these rumors are indeed true.
Its the perfect season to try regain some draft capital, get picks and prospects to use in the off season were not picking up anyone thats beating Washington or LA or Colorado etc lets stay grounded here.
Rangers will NOT make a single move. Drury will stay GM and Lavy will renew his deal. (For those new Rangers fans)
Agree about not squandering the future for questionable rentals.
I worry about mostly weak opponents – this year Rangers play down to the level of opponents instead of crushing them.
Rangers will make a big mistake if they make desperation trades to make the playoffs. There are three futures who can make the team next year in Perreault, Othmann & Berard. I have my doubts the management will be future oriented given past behavior. Even if they make the playoffs, they are going nowhere.
can we all stop fooling ourselves? Chris Drury only serves one master: James Dolan. He knows that if they don't make the playoffs, he's gone. So he will do whatever he can to get NYR into the playoffs and try to roll 8 the hard way that Igor will get us into the 2nd maybe even 3rd round. To do that, he will trade a whole lot. And the team will suffer in the long run as we sell off prospects and picks for aging rentals. Also, does anyone really care about the 4-nations thing? Does it really matter or count if the Czech and Russian players aren't included? I doubt i'll tune into any of it.
