Skinner needs to leave or be #2, people say ,well he got us to game 7 last year, but he also got them down 3 games to 0. Can't have a guy who's gonna let the team down constantly like Skinner has done. Vegas, Colorado or Winnipeg will chase him out and the Oilers will lose again.
I feel like Gibson would waive to go to Pittsburgh. He is from there and they need a goalie with Jarry going to the AHL and Ned being more of a high end backup.
You have to trade Skinner, by dethroning him, you wreck his confidence, plus it would help alleviate Gibson salary.

No way 25 y.o gaint skinner getting traded, he had a bad game vs avalanche, thats all.
Kochetkov's numbers don't tell the whole story. He sees like 13 shots (on goal) a game, so if he lets in one then it's much more dramatic on his stats. Kochetkov also comes out and takes the puck from shooters before their shot gets off, so he makes saves that don't show up on the shot sheet.
Ya can't trade skinner. Even if you get gibson, it's been far too long since he's been in the playoffs, so if he shits the bed and you only have pickard as a backup, it's over. And even if he does play well, he's 31. How much longer is he gonna be a viable option, especially when his contract expires. Sure, the oilers have other goalies in the system, but have they made it as far as Stu? No. You need him should all else fail, and it's not like he's making much, either. Trading pickard to the ducks makes way more sense since then dostal gets certified as the 1 there.
