The money behind this franchise will never allow for a proper rebuild. NY demands you win NOW , and as a result, our kids don't develop properly, and we never win any championships and around and around we go
From what I saw in the game I attended, Garand has an excellent glove hand. I think he needs better balance on plays near the crease as he was on his back a few times. We are pretty short on good D prospects it seems with only Fortescue being a Grade A Defender. Dorrington fancies himself as a crease controller & describes himself as a bit of a bully. Neither of those guys is going to be a big point producer & I'm OK with guys who defend well. Robertson probably moves on after this season as he is not going to get playing time in the NHL. Emery has a long way to go before he is ready. Defencemen seem to take longer to develop it seems.
this is great and exciting…however the Rangers have always historically been terrible at managing and developing prospects. Sure you have elite level talent like Adam Fox who'd be an elite player wherever he signed. But for the rest of the kids we have cultivated over the last 10 seasons…who's turned into the player we thought were drafting for? Outside Fox and Igor, both of whom would have excelled wherever they played, i cannot think of a truly elite homegrown talent. Kreider i guess is the only one that comes to mind… but his best days are behind him.
Rangers need to bring up players. Thats what organizations do. Find out so u can get rid of this loose shit dead weight starters
Again, may thanks! Internet is obsessed with trades – but this gives us a better idea for future optimism. Defense has been a weak spot, consistently.
I could see Garand taking Quick's spot when he retires.
Not sure why some of the younger D are not getting a try, given the problems we have.
Coach needs to sit Laffy for a couple games – his slackness on D is costing us games.
With the way this team has been trading/forcing youth away they really need to hope they start developing some young players. Really excited for Gabe Perrault to make his way to the NHL
