It can sometimes be like a jigsaw puzzle where you need to find the pieces and figure out where they fit. Fire a coach for being the wrong fit and find a new one that hopefully is.

Here I've been thinking that we could all thank the ownership of the Buffalo Sabres for those dismal and abysmal average tenure figures for NHL head coaches. However, in watching this video I now understand that the Flyers have been a great help in generating these mind-boggling statistics. What a wonderful time to be an NHL HC. Sign a 3-year contract, get fired after 2 years, and spend a whole year sitting on your azz doing nothing while living like a king. Rinse and repeat. Sounds just as good (and lucrative) as being a school superintendent. It's a racket, I'm tell ya, a racket!
I'm a Wings fan, I watch every game. I had no idea why Lalonde thought they should be playing the trap with guys like Kane, Larkin, Raymond, and DeBrincat. Go out and make plays, be agressive, and score goals.
Lalonde got Lalonde fired.
It's called reversion to the mean. By definition, teams are statistically underperforming and thus the coach got fired. Just randomly, most of these teams would have played better even if they kept their coach.

People think the trap is easy and takes no skill until they actually have to try and play the trap system. Then you find out pretty quick it’s tricky to teach forwards how to basically be defensemen lol

Todd was watching Wings playing and screaming at the tv. WTF is LaLonde doing.
Kane is a floater and a power play specialist kind of. He has no way of getting someone fired. Half ass back checking and guys leaving the zone on break outs got Lalonde fired. Now if you don't skate both ways you don't play and I could see Kane coming up with a lower body injury and being done for the year.
Been a RTH fan for a whike now and he just keeps getting better!! Definitely one of my fave hockey channels!! Just waiting for a NHL GM to hire this guy as their vidoe coach!! Rob definitely has an eye for hockey and its pretty amazing at analyzing!! Keep up the great content while you're still a content creator!! And someone give Rutherford Rob's number!!! We could use his eye in the vidoe room!!
To start off the Wings grossly overachieved last season setting up unrealistic expectations for fans which didnt help as they are still a fringe playoff team regardless of the coach. Sadly for the Red Wings the firing was likely made too late and likely results in them missing the playoffs by 4-8pts. The problem with Lalonde and the Red Wings was pretty obvious Lalonde is clearly a greta coach he just had the complete wrong players for how he likes to coach. Looking at that dcore you cant play a defensive favoured style you have to go all out on offense and hope you can outscore your opponent which is often not a sustainable or successful way to play but thats how the Wings have been built so far. Really sucks for Lalonde cause I think he would be a great coach for many teams Detroit mightve been the worst fit for his style.

Just got to this on 2/6 and the Wings are 15-4-1 in their last twenty and in a WC spot. The Wings are playing with a renewed enthusiasm and it's showing on the ice. PS – Showtime is something else. So glad we have him. LGRW
