I am pretty sure that Hughes does not want to trade Evans, nor should he. If the Canadiens want to be a playoff team someday, they need to keep the same group of players to create a team spirit, and Hughes knows that pretty well. When you trade a guy like Evans, who has been playing very good hockey for many weeks, think about the message you're sending to other players on the team. If Evans wants to be traded, it means to me that not many guys on the team want to play in Montreal. It does not smell good.

They struggled for 30 years to find centers , now about to lose dvorak and Evans for marginal picks🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂ we lose those two, be ready to take a major step back next year , who’s gonna win faceoffs? Suzuki will be forced back on the pk and will affect his production and the rest of the team production
How do you justify and pay 1st rounders for newhook and dack and pay Laine 8.7 and bench him than talk about and getting excited about losing Evans and dvorak for marginal picks?🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂

The name of the game is shooting the puck, scoring and keeping the puck out of your zone. I am afraid there are too many players who are just going through the motions without the passion that they showed in January.

Evans has come a long way but his camp will ask solid numbers which for a 4th line center does not make the grade.
Evans at 20 was nowhere near where Beck stands today. Beck has great potential! I like Davidson ! I think he can play that defensive role & play well offensively too. Love his grit as well. Get the best deal possible for Evans and move on.
We need quality assets at the top 6 forward position. Hugo will get it done !

Time to move on from Evan's…he is on the down side of his career and Hughes knows it …His trade value is worth more than his expensive contract and declining play ….Move him …!!
You guys didn't even mention that Cole and Suzuki have been quiet over the last 5 or 6 games. If they don't produce, then the Canadiens can't win. Cole is on pace to score 38 goals in 2024/25 and Nick Suzuki is on a 22 goal pace this season. They could catch fire and put up some big numbers, or remain ice cold. It kind of reminds me of that episode of The Real Ghostbusters playing sports from 1986. They ultimately won, but struggled mightily.
Slaf contract tied hugos hands. Now anybody producing better than slaf is fully within their right to ask for 7.6+
I think you trade either Armia or Evans and either Matheson or Savard. Also Devorak if anyone is willing
Those simulators are not even close to reality. According to Statmuse, Habs are now 3-6-1 in last 10 games vs Bolts. Can say if Evans cannot be retained….watch the rebuild to take a lot longer…Habs have been giving away defensive forwards like crazy in the last few years. Seen how good Lehkonen doing very well with the Avs….
