  1. Ray actually does have the answer to Elias Petterson's problems. In an interview a few months ago on Donnie and Dhali, Ray was asked by one of you two guys "What do you think about Petterson?" and Ray answered "He's not the fastest, he's not the strongest". I think that sums Petey up perfectly, and you can see it every night. He's a very good and talented player, but most definitely not worth $11.6 million, and he never will be. The problem with Petterson and JT Miller can be explained in the old saying "There's two kinds of hockey players: guys who show up to play hockey, and hockey players." Petterson is a guy who shows up to play hockey, Miller is a hockey player.

  2. The Sedins weren’t the fastest skaters either, but they’re hall of famers, Art Ross winners (both of them) and Cup finalists. Having speed is a real asset and Pettersson should be doing what Bo did – get a coach like Gary Roberts to work with him. But with his hockey IQ, there’s no way he shouldn’t be well above a PPG. Like Ray said, I think he’s trying too. But when you’ve played the game a certain way and things aren’t going well, you have to be able to switch things up. The bully is gone. Nobody’s calling you names. Get it together. Wayne Gretzky was by any standard “soft.” He wasn’t a great skater either. But he got it done because of his hockey IQ and confidence. Despite not being fast or big, I’ve seen Petey storm down the ice with the puck and gain the zone on his own. Even his shot doesn’t look the same. Maybe get a sports psychologist to work with him. You’ve invested this money in a guy with the potential to score 100 points a season and he’s still young. Get him a speed skating coach and a sports psychologist.

  3. Petey pace was there last year because he was drawing penalties all the time, now he couldn’t draw a penalty if he tried

  4. Ray nailed the opening statement about Miller, we were never going to get that play from him again.

I'm not sure what's going on with EP40. But I thought he did well in the Avs game. He has had a strong start this month in the dot, with a 56% win rate. He's not putting up points, but he's not getting scored on either. EP40 has not had a solid line since hes been here. Thats why Jake was brough in. Brock is slow and seems to be off. I think you will see EP40 come out abit against an "easier" opponent. I strongly believe he is on the edge of being a 100 point player with selke potential. I would like to see Hoggy, ep40, and O'Conner on a line.

  5. Petey has to pull his head out his ass, move his feet constantly do the inventive cool shit he did his rookie year! 1- move them feet, 2-take on defenders 3-be creative and take puck to middle of ice 4- let fucking loose (shoot and be free in offense 3rd) 5- Be fucking dominant (says wants to be the best fucking act and be it Petey!! Be the killer you were rookie year – should be top 12 player in NHL now!

  6. Dhali just needs to have a Hawaiian shirt in his car or at the office and wear it for Thursday before Ray's segment

  7. Just like the good ol days with Ferraro on the radio when I would drop my kids off at school, great stuff gents.

  8. Petey needs to take a page from the Sedin's history. They took ownership of improving themselves… I believe it was their third season in the NHL. They knew they were slow, and proceeded to hire an olympic power skating coach in the off season and showed up faster the following season. Just my two cents worth.

  9. What's EP40's face-off win/loss percentage for the season? Does that guy win even 25% of his face-offs, in all seriousness? Gimme the truth-telling stat please, cause I'm not seeing him win many of them.

  10. See this is what happens when you get rid of BIG clumsy D-men. Get speed and puke movers. The big clutz era is dead!

  11. If the Canucks made a different decision we could have had Miller and Horvat down the center signed long term at 15M. Instead…

  12. He has speed, but there got to be some mental block or injury that is going on him and is affecting his play. He won’t be a 100 point player if he is slow.

  13. This is Rutherford's ultimate revenge on the media: collect all the Petys to confuse the crap out of the play-by-play guy every night…

  14. Seriously, I think Petey started finesteride for his balding and it just put him a step back mentally and slightly physically.
