Marner and it's not really close. Until I see Nylander give a full effort in the D zone, Marner will always be the more complete player.

Marner is by far the best player on the leafs. He is elite offensively and defensively. Nylander and Matthews are both lazy on defense. without Marner the leafs are barely over 50% win pct. without Matthews the leafs have over a 60%. That's not by accident. Marner makes every player around him better. The reason Marner doesnt produce a ton of points in the playoffs is because Matthews forget hoe to score. Marner is still make the great passes, but Matthew doesn't bury them in the playoffs.
Keeping a losing core together is a bad idea. Leafs need to sign a number one defenceman, not overpay Marner again.

The leafs flames games was pretty close to playoff style of game you’ll see in regular season , it was a lot more intense then most games , and marner couldn’t play or show up in a game like that he’s irrelevant out there once it gets more intense and physical, he’s gotta go he is too small and scared
Marner generally tries harder/contributes more on a consistent basis, but when Nylander can be bothered to show up, he feels like our own version of Leon Draisaitl.
Willy frustrates me because he's VERY good, but it's up to him whenever he feels like proving it.
The Leafs having both is a great problem to have, but if they ever make a deep playoff run, I think it happens on the back of William Nylander. He’s got that dawg in him; the swagger, the clutch factor, the ability to score when it matters most. Marner’s an elite all-around player, no doubt, but when the games get tight and the season is on the line, I trust Willy to be the difference-maker.
No doubt Nylander more valuable just look at previous playoffs Marner no show cannot compete physically
Nylander is overall a better player. He is a versatile player with great shooting, passing, skating, and great hockey IQ. Plus, he can make magic happen with any mediocre linesman, and he preforms more in the playoffs. All Marner has to do is pass to the best goal scorer in the league. Don't get me wrong, Marner is talented, but probably overrated while Nylander is underrated…. I wouldn't give Marner a penny more than Matthews, and I wouldn't even give him a penny more than Nylander. Marner has been over payed, whines and doesn't put up in playoffs… Take Marner's money and put it to a good bottom six.
Nylander by alot. Marner cant score. Plus Marner sucks in post season.
Not hard to see why Boudreau is unemployed. If they over pay Bruce they cant fill the lineup with better players. Just check how much the top salaries in this league have gone up in the last 20 year. Not very much.

i mean marner i think i would have to give it too…hes 1st in EAST in assist..4th nhl scoring..shows up every night …spends half game on defence…plays on pk…he literally can play any and every position, he has much more heart…he is from toronto..loves toronto and wants to stay in toronto..whos the fastest leaf in HISTORY to get 700 points in leafs uniform? ill give you a hint..its not mathews and its not nylander..its mitch marner…12-13 mill 8 years i would happily as gm offer..11 mill leafs offer to him was a low ball offer..he already makes that..hes good for a slight raise..mathews and willie got huge raises so why not mitch?

Marner is a more useful player all around. Nylander is a good scorer but that’s pretty much all he has to offer

Love Brucey but I'm glad he's not GM of the Leafs or our cap hell would keep on truckin…Just sign him, I think we will be well off enough is not a plan its a hope and pray
