Kane just made NHL history

The shootout was introduced in the NHL back in 2005 and Patrick Kane’s filthy backhander has been lethal in the shootout for as long as it’s been here. Coming into last nights matchup as the Detroit Red Wings faced off against the Seattle Kraken, on the back of some key stops from Joey Daccord, the Kraken were able to come back and tie the game at 4 in the 3rd period. After overtime settled nothing, it meant Patrick Kane had the opportunity to make a NHL history. See, coming into this game he was already tied for first with Jonathan Toews at 52 shootout goals. Ironically, it meant he had the chance to take over that number 1 spot against his long time Blackhawks teammate and boy did he ever do it! Giving us a vintage Kane backhander off the pipe and in! It was a thing of beauty giving Patrick Kane the throne and title of King of the Shootout! Further, it being the only goal in the shootout, it also marked his 23rd game deciding shootout goal now tying him for 1st in that category as well with Franz Neilson. It was a fun one, so enjoy as I cover all that and more in todays NHL hockey video!

  1. Giveaway Clarification It is against YouTube rules to require viewers be subscribed in order to win a giveaway. You do not need to be subscribed to be entered I don't want to break any rules or laws, so for now I am simply announcing that a giveaway will be held after I hit 100k. When I do, this giveaway and how it will work will be formally announced. I hope that makes sense!

  2. Funny how nobody talks about Matty Beniers anymore. Dude fell off a cliff. Meanwhile, Wyatt Johnston is still getting better.

  3. Congratz Mr. Kane but you would have had that and any other record sooner with the Leafs…hehehe just a small punt…great job Sir.

  4. You and hockey psychology have really reeled me into hockey and I’m from New Zealand. Can’t watch any games live here and you guys really do cover all bases. Been about 3 months and I’ve watch every video so thank you for that

  5. 3 non calls against the kraken led directly to 3 kraken goals. Obvious no calls….glad the wings were able to over come adversity, again!

  6. I was watching the Kraken broadcast of the game, and John Forslund basically called the goal before it even happened lol. He reacted like it was the least surprising thing he had ever seen in a hockey game.

  7. He's so good 1v1, this is another example of why IMO Patty Kane has the #1 smoothest hands & skating in the NHL, even today after almost 20 years in the league.

  8. Congrats kaner! So glad the boys have turned it around. Shout out to Todd and staff. Great video man, thanks. Cheers bud.

  9. He makes it look so easy! That puck was in the net before he took his first stride. Hated him (Still amazing) with the Hacks, love him with my Wings!

  10. Bar down in all the best ways.

Lol remember when everyone called him a rapist. Classic.
