Cozens is far too much of a risk with his contract. Am I guessing a trade similar to Laine's, but 5 more years? That full cap hit is too much of a liability. Put into perspective, potential to be center version of Gallagher, but younger. Considering if he is that supposedly that good, are you saying that he could potentially usurp Captain Suzuki and dismantle the 1st line? Flashbacks of the Gomez trade come to mind as his contract is around the cap hit of what Gomez had.

The only issue is he is a right hand center. They need a Left C
Emil Heineman will be back in about a week. I would put him on the Suzuki line. I would leave Laine on the Evans line. They are NOT a fourth line. I would leave Owen Beck just where he is. I would play Mailloux for his offense. I would put Struble AND Slaf in the press box. Time for some tough love. No time for under performing passengers. 'Specially those who take stupid penalties.
Maybe Slaf will force me to eat crow after tonight's game. I hope so.
Dach is big & has a lot of development ahead of him.

No, no about Cozens! NO NO NO NO NO!!! What is this obsession Hughes has with trading for players who've proven nothing but that they're not as good as they were expected to be?!? The last thing we need is another Dach/Newhook wasting everyone's time and taking roster spots from players who actually compete. Yes, we need a serious 2nd line center. So TRADE FOR ONE!! One who's actually proven himself to actually BE a second-line center!! NOT another gamble on a reclamation project. You know the saying…fool me once……
