The Utah Hockey Club fought hard and nearly made a late comeback but fell just short in a 2-1 loss to the St. Louis Blues at Delta Center on Sunday.
St. Louis got on the board first late in the opening period. After over 30 minutes with no score, Utah was able to find an equalizer off of a faceoff. Itt didnt take too long for the Blues to strike again and they were able to hold their lead until the final horn.
Utah has lost five in a row and 10 of their last 14. With the win, St. Louis jumped Utah in the Central Division and Western Conference standings.
The Utah Hockey Club will have one more chance to get in the win column on their current homestand as they host the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday, February 4.
