Does Mark Scheifele get enough credit?

With Mark Scheifele a goal away from passing Ilya Kovalchuk to becoming the franchise’s all-time leading goal-scorer, TSN Director of Scouting Craig Button joins Domino’s That’s Hockey to discuss if the Jets forward gets enough credit.

  1. It's not just that he scores goals but he scores goals that matter, when the team really needs it. He's the leader of a team that's leading, says it all..

  2. Top Canadian goal scorer in the NHL. Of course he should be in the Four Nations Cup. Probably on the first line with McDavid.

  3. Scheifele or Conner don't get far enough credit for the Jets success, with that being said the whole team is as solid a team as there is, hopefully they can keep the coaching and team together for years to come, no tweeking the lineup needed here

  4. Of course he should be on Team Canada. No question. BUT… the snubbing of Scheifs may very well be the best thing to happen for him. Since the snubbing he's played like he has something to prove, he's been outstanding even more than his previous usual high level. And… I hate to say it but there's now no risk of him getting injured in the 4N. The Jets playoff run, to me, is more important.

  5. About freaking time the Sportsing Media started paying attention. He's not on team Canada because Sweeny doesn't like him.

  6. thing is… #55 does something not very many NHL players have… even some of the “superstars”

he produces consistently. night in night out , month after month season after season… reg season and playoffs.

he scores at a ppg or better.

he might not set a single season record or get a trophy… but there’s really not a lot of first line centres, who aren’t considered superstars, that have that constant continuous production.

  7. I think that Scheiffle will lead the Jets to the cup this year. One thing you gentlemen neglected to bring up is his relationship with the other players. They absolutely respect him, and follow his lead. He and Kyle Conner have to be the humblest superstars in the league.

  8. Craig Button if you're reading this, keep up the great wrok, I really enjor listening to you when you are on the record at Jets games usually after the first period. Keep it up, I heard some shit talkers before, but they are just that. You do a great job!

  9. He is truly appreciated and deserves more respect from the league
As well as the rest of the team
    Go jets go

  10. Scheife is amazing, I've played and watched hockey since 1964, he's a great helper very player, if he was a ranger or my hometown bruin he'd get the attention, it just shows that people in control go with popularity, just like casual fans who've never played the game.

  11. Maybe so. His entire prime he's been right around a point a game, and has been good for at least 29 goals most years.
