Tuesday, the Capitals never trailed — with the Panthers tying the score twice on goals from Sam Bennett and Sasha Barkov. Matthew Tkachuk made it 4-3 in the third, but the Caps got a pair of empty-net goals — including one from Alex Ovechkin with .10 seconds left — to salt away the win.

Florida visits the St. Louis Blues on Thursday.
