There may have been no better pick than the Montreal Canadiens stealing sniper Cole Caufield with the 15th overall pick in the 2019 NHL Draft. But who were the 14 hockey players drafted before him?

Obsessed with these style of videos. Keep up the amazing work!
That was a stacked draft. Over half of those picks are now bonafide studs in the NHL.
Only two players I would definitely take above Caufield are Hughes and Seider. (Boldy is debatable) But otherwise Caufield is pretty clearly better then everyone else on this list
Edit: for the Boldy fanboys who are going to come complain in the replies, please bring your attention to my first reply where I explain that I put Boldy as debatable because I never watch Wilds games so it didn't felt right to cast a judgement on a player I haven't really observed myself.
never scored over 30 goals but is a rocket winner, can i have some of what you're smoking
Amazing job, your videos are super cool
Caufield > Kakko , Dach , Turcotte , Broberg , Zegras , Podkolzin , Soderstrom , Knight , York
=
Caufield would go top 6 in a redraft. #ChangeMyMind
If CC was 6+ feet tall it would have been a tight race between him and Hughes for the top spot….
Hughes caufield seider boldy are definitely the top picks from that draft
1. Hughes
2. Boldy
3. Seider
4. Caufield
5. Cozens
Im a habs fan, love caufield, definitely the steal of the draft
Who cares
I just had a small laugh to myself as I thought about you doing one of these videos for Lane Hutson in a few years. 62nd overall, we need to know about all 61 that came before!! 😂🤣
Habs deserve no credit for this. Its not their "brilliance'', but rather that Caufield fell into their lap. Had they really wanted Caufield that bad, they would have traded up to get him. Awful lucky Philly didn't draft him. Had Habs done better drafting in the past 15 years, they wouldn't have sunk so low. Biggest gaffes = Kostystin and that KK guy and Slavkovski is still a question mark. They seem to have a fixation with drafting glittery overseas guys instead of good old North American grit.
Habs fans are so dumb it’s crazy
Video feels like old school TSN/Sportsnet content from my youth. Great stuff!
As a hawks fan, it always hurts to be reminded that we drafted Dach at #3 overall
Surprising amount of USA kids in this top 15
I was petrified that the Flyers f***ed up by passing on Caufield twice. But York has played well enough to where it is a wash in my opinion. Dmen develop later anyway and Caufield isn't exactly a superstar
Kappo is terrible!
No mention of how much Kakko's in his 6th season and aside from a 40-point outlier, never put up more than 23 points a season, to the point where the NYR tried to trade him recently. No mention of how Dach got injured after being traded to the Habs and how he's struggled all season to be anything but a slowpoke who has no jump to his game, no word on Broberg tearing it up in St.Louis, nothing about how Zegras is mightily struggling in contributing in any way offensively for this season and how his last one was equally disastrous,…
It's as if someone read the scouting report on these guys and assembled a video around it with outdated info. No stats, no conclusions, just… here are some names and where they play. Not what I thought this video would provide.
Bro is this video ai?
Podkolzin’s been great for Edmonton this year, slotting into the top 6 with Draisaitl and even getting some time with mcdavid
Caulfield is not that good idiots!,
Does Caufield crack the Top 10? Are you serious or is that a joke? Not a very bright comment. Cole Caufield is in the Top 3 all day long of the 2019 draft. You give way too much credit to players like Kapo Kaako and Trevor Zegras who have been quite disappointing by any measure. Alex Turcotte is looking like a bust same as Podkolzin who has yet to look like an NHL player. Cam York still has a lot to prove and Spencer Knight looks like he has regressed. When we look at this draft 5 years later, many of these players have not lived up to their billing.
Cole Caufield has the 2nd most goals of anyone in this class behind Jack Hughes and he is among the league leaders with 17 goals in 27 games already this year. Cole is on pace for a 50+ goal season. The only 2 players I rank above Caufield are Jack Hughes who was drafted #1 overall and Matt Boldy who seems to be on the way to a stellar career in Minnesota. Caufield comes right in after these 2 and its hard to argue with my logic.
Is Hutson the best in 2022 draft ?
Habs always take the smallest player 😂
Caufield is nothing special
Cole Caulfield will never win the rocket the best 50 goal scorer to never score 30
What happened? The other 14 kept growing😂
What an impressive draft class. More than 50% of those players have developed into legitimate NHL stars.
Only a deluded Habs fan would have Caufield in the top 5. An undersized winger, who is a minus player at even strength and scores a third of his goals on the PP doesn't rank ahead of 5 of these guys. Jack Hughes is #1 Center that Habs don't have. Bowen Byram is a proven top 4 defenseman without whom, the Avs probably don't win the Cup. Seider is another top defenseman who the Red Wings rely on already. Boldy can score and is big enough to win puck battles. Dylan Cozens is a big #2 center that can score, battle for the puck and set up plays. HIs plus minus would be better if he weren't on Buffalo. You could say the same thing about Caufield if he wasn't on the Habs, but Cozens goes to the dirty areas and Caufield stays on the outside most of his shift. The poster of this video is out to lunch on Kakko, Dach, Zegras and others. Finally, no way Caufield wins the Rocket now that Laine is scoring all of his PP goals and without a better set up man at full strength
It wasn't injuries that stalled Kirby Dach's career but it was the coach. Called out by Patrick Kane for their poor usage of Dach AND Debrincat. Both should be major stars by now but typical Blackhawks fashion when Quenneville left Chicago they went cheap for coaching, That's generally typical of all Chicago teams, I know that because I've lived here for 6 decades. The Cubs go out and over-pay making him the highest paid Manager in history for a guy who never won a thing as a Manager. Fans booed Kirby when he came back because their ignorance blamed him for his lack of development but he stuck it to them that very night winning the game for Montreal in a shoot-out, it was great seeing him celebrate on the ice with the new team.
Can we talk about how Canadians have #3 #15 and #16
