I wanna say ty to skarek for being there for us and he did not play bad he was t great but he wasn't bad I think if he gets more NHL experience he can be a very good backup goalie

I'm proud of them. The Isles don't have JT Millers falling into their laps. They get injuries instead.

Good morning team! Gil, we have to hand it to the team and give credit where credit is due. Hell of a run the Isles had during the win streak. Last night we ran into a very good team, that is on a streak of their own, and we did well with a back up goalie, and a depleted team, in my opinion. Both games were played well, and I'm proud of the team. How quickly can we recover, and start another win streak. They keep playing the way they have and I think it's possible to beat anyone. Islanders have a HUGE Goalie deficit . The Islanders need to get a somewhat decent NHL level goslie. Trades ard noe even more urgent to be made while moving players to other teams . WE NEED A BACKUP GOALIE LIKE YESTERDAY. I was at the game at Amerant and Skarek blew chunks
I admire your wishful thinking regarding the islanders chance to make the playoffs. They need to go 20-10 good luck. As far as Lou bringing in players, why are they all D-men when we average 2 goals a game for the past 4 years? Let Sorokin finish the 3 games before break, if we lose 2 of 3 we are out of the playoffs, cannot afford to not let Sorokin play, now we need him the most.
What happened to Hogsworth or whatever his name is? Look effort is good as of late. I get it. We don't quit and all that but, the fact remains we need to clean house of at least 5 maybe 7 players on this team. I rather build with new blood than try to teach another system to old dogs. I'm trying to be positive but I know what's going to happen already. All I'm saying is we need to be prepared for next season now. Holding on to a pipe dream is holding us back. We can start another win streak, just a few points out of the last spot. If we are worthy of that spot, we will get it.
Starting Saturday, we had 5 really tough games in a row ahead of us. By hook or by crook, I was hoping the could get 5 out of 10 possible points before 2 weeks off. Well we got 2 already and I can't be upset about last night's loss. Winnipeg seems like a lost cause at this point, but Minny and Vegas have been scuffling over their last 10 games.
Todd Bertuzzi just STOLE money while he played for us. The only Islander I have ever booed.
Hi Gil! Devastating news that Barzie is out indefinitely—I mean I wish Mayfield well but geez—again? Sharek reminds me so much of Poulin—Just not NHL caliber. I’m proud of them for giving us this 7 game streak. We have a chance but changes are around the corner. Gatcomb is a real nice addition—-6”4, physical, seems to have a nose for the net, nice hands—where was this kid hiding? Goes to show Gil—-ya don’t know what ya have until they are given a chance. Man can’t panic here—if there were two weak links Imop—it was Dobson and Mayfield. To this Gm’s credit, has has shored up the D offensively—-if not for those quiet additions—we’d be up a creek—have to give credit where credit is justly do. You know how I feel but I tip my hat. Remember when Bo put us on his back? He’s gonna have to do that again. We need a goalie and badly. Can’t believe I’m saying this. Bottom line? Let’s try and get Pettersson here to the Island—there is no guarantee a big fish will come to us. Can’t panic—-we play as a team and let’s roll the dice. As fans—we win and lose together—this team gave us a good run—-I’ve always said a team needs two runs a year——as fans let’s root for another one! I don’t want him as our Gm—-but put your final stamp on this team and please retain our number 1! Take care Gil!
i think goalie skarek played fine. all goals were due to poor defense (both defense and offense players). as far as barzal is concerned, ive always been an advocate of NOT blocking shots. too much risk of injury.
I agree Gil they had nothing to be ashamed about last nights performance. I wonder if Sorokin was available we may have had a shot for a point or 2. If we need a fill in at Goalie, what about Tristan Jarry, didn't the Pens put him on waivers recently? Tough stretch coming up, I just hope Lou does the right thing for the future. And I agree 100% with you about the 5 D Men fill in signings Lou made the last 2 seasons were really great. Straight shooter Gil! LGI
I think this is a rap…even I am throwing in the towel now…we have no choice, snakebitten by injuries, even sneak into a playoff spot without Barzal…where is this team going without barzie, …where are we going with him…our hand is forced now….sell everything.. and start the rebuild
