What's going on is, alot of people thought a big turn around was here because of a few good games. Same issues. Goaltending and coaching.
Habs lack of depth is being exposed. IMHO now the young Habs have shown they have the potential to be a very good team when they add Demidov and 2-3 more key pieces,, I don't think it's a bad thing for them to tank this year to score one more good prospect. Also, Laine has proven to be a one trick pony so far. We can do much better with 8.7M.
Absolutely hilarious to me that a team can lose giving up three straight goals to the Anaheim ducks, and the fingers are pointed at the fifth defenceman instead of the guy to get paid to win these hockey games
A big problem is the consistent lack of finishing ability. Been like this for years.
They were playing at their best possible during that stretch but keeping that pace was unsustainable – not with their depth. Their previous poor form (and current poor form) is closer to who they are but that's ok. It's a rebuild. We don't need to cheer a tank – we should be looking for good habits and good effort. They've shown that they are capable of more. Help is coming from the prospects. Hopefully KH can find a gem or two in the summer.
Habs 1st line is gassed, 1st line cant do it all but they looked a little slow and not too engaged. 2nd line was not looking too interested. That's it. Just gotta wait another year or 2, they're simply not ready. Trust in Hughes!
Good show Shaun . Watch you every day. I agree with to many soft players. Being big doesn't mean being tough . Habs need to get tougher.
I agree with everything you say 👏👏👏
About newy he might not be a perfect player but the guy tries every game . More than you can say about 1/2 the guys on this team .
Small players? Josh Anderson, Arber WiFi, Juri Slavkovsky, Joel Armia, David Savard, Mike Matheson, etc.
Shaun Starr is full of hot air.
Trade Laine for Mika Adbinajad
Why is Pezzetta still on roster send him to Laval and bring up some energy
Play Boullet on the 2nd line
Newhook on 4th
Laine ain’t looking great but he doesn’t have a top 6 two way centre or a playmaking winger
Dach coverage on D is atrocious
Switch Slaf with Dach play Newhook at 2C
Laine gets a passer in Slaf and a Centre in Newhook that might win more than 1 faceoff the whole game
Or just bring a Tuch / Davidson / Florian to play on 4th
Team was having success when they had 4 lines
Playing 3 and 2/3 lines is dumb might as well just dress 7 D if you’re only playing 11 forwards hell put Arber or Strubble on the 4th line at wing…
Savard should be paired with Hutson or Matheson they both need a stay home D as partner
That’s my rant
The players are still young enough to help the team win. But they want to Win Now? And maybe they are not strong enough to deal with them learning the basics ? I'm not saying that they are not Good enough to be better than they are playing? Because they show us that they can be better than that! Thanks again for your time and video! I am a new Subscribe! I enjoyed the show! Thanks again! JimS
We have a good team, but great teams learn to find a way. That is simply where we are in the rebuild – a good team that can run with the best of them, but a little adversity from the grind and injury, and they clearly don't have the greatness needed to rise above and find a way. That comes with depth and experience.
I will Answer your question?? NO ONE TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT THEM COMING BACK ON SOMEONE HITTING THEM IN TO THEIR BENCH! I am a Habs fan for55years ! They are not really ready yet to compete for the Cup ! Sorry ? Thanks again! JimS
I generally agree. Habs could use an additional enforcer. They do have a lot of small players and need more talent. Laine could use a kick in the butt as well.
Slafkovsky isn’t progressing, he’s been given every possible opportinity, he plays big minutes on the first line with the two best forwards , gets to play on the first pp wave everytime .
Not to mention his d-zone play where he looks confused and lost on a regular basis .
He is on his 3rd pro season , he’s been the same size since he’s been drafted yet some fans and media keep making excuses for him saying « he is growing into his body » or « he lacks experience » .
How long do the habs need to coddle him before he starts to pay off ? 4rth season ? 5fth? 6th??!
The fact people think Demidov should start on the second line next year just blows my mind .
Losing to Toronto after having a 3 nothing lead was the burst to their bubble.
