The Vancouver Canucks lost to the Dallas Stars…. JT Miller got traded to the New York Rangers for Filip Chytil. Marcus Pettersson got traded for Danton Heinen and Vincent Desharnais in a deal with the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Canucks just had a crazy day, let me know what you all think regarding the state of the team.

Idk… I guess we'll see how much this helps Petey. My thought is like… losing the heart of the Canucks is not going to be good for us in the playoffs, but I hope I'm wrong. Losing that Centre depth feels terrible as well. I know we had to give up that first we got for M. Pettersson, but… idk… it just feels like the wrong solution. But again, I'm not the one in the locker room.

Been a fan of this team since 94. Give it a chance, miller this and miller that… thats a soon to be 32 year old miller. You get petterson and mancini in return. You are officially ok Defensive wise now. On the off season without JTs contract, we can pick up 1 or 2 good forwards including a better center, resign lankinen and we will be ok. All these negative comments and not ONE GM in sight!
I think Canucks fans need to prepare themselves because i firmly believe EP40 will be gone before next season.
It always takes 2 to split a room, and only part of the problem is gone.

It’s a business the owner and management have no idea how to run. For years this has been the case and the virus of incompetence stems from the Aquilinis. Change ownership and maybe just maybe will see a “professional franchise” in Vancouver.

Just finished listening to the end of the video. I agree Desharnais is a bum but Danton Heinen filled his role. He scored a few timely goals, killed penalties and was scoring at the pace that reflects his cap hit. I have no problem with Heinen. O’Connor will be about the same.

miller obviously is a distraction in the dressing room. Guys like that bounce around the NHL year after year. They go to one team and that team decides they do not need the distraction and they trade them on. But look at the bright side. We got another Petterson in the deal.

Complete mismanagement by Rutherford and Allvin. If I was the owner, I would fire them. If they knew there was a feud between JT and Petey, they should have shipped one of them out before it got worse. Don't sign them both to massive long-term deals and hope for the best. Then you hamstring yourself by making asinine public comments and sell JT for a fire-sale price, basically getting a bag of pucks and a jockstrap in return. Then, you ship out Desharnais and Heinen, effectively telling the world you whiffed when you signed them as FA's in the summer. This indicates you can't evaluate talent. You did absolutely nothing to improve your D last summer, spending all your cash on Debrusk. It's no wonder this team is mid-pack at best. Now we are looking at a "retool on the fly" again. The deals did not make the roster better and showed management to be fools who are ripe to be ripped off by other teams who are actually awake. The Canucks are weaker today than they were yesterday.
The Vancouver fanbase knows hockey. They won't be fooled by the smoke and mirrors.

Glad that we traded of Heinen, definitely felt like an anchor(the bad kind) on our offense tying us down. Hopefully trading Miller solves the morale aspect because if it doesn't we're in huge trouble. Miller imo was the only player who can handle Huggy's potential in speed and power of a passing partner, everyone else he has to hold himself back I feel; just a shame that Miller's work ethic was horrible(atleast during the drama)
Gar these last 2 games is stepping the f' up though, he's always been a ball of hustle but it's like he's got the dog in him, he is finally craving goals instead of a passing mentality. love to see it.

Quinn Hughes has silently been the MVP for a while now. He's kept the team in a position to compete nearly single-handedly. As much as Canucks fans love to be negative about the management and the team's future as long as they have Hughes there will always be a shot at contention. Hart finalist easily

I am with you deaner, miller is one of the best forwards the canucks have had, not as good a Bure, Mogilny , Naslund , Daniel Sedin or linden , but in the top 7 up until this season , when his game fell off, he walks for 3 weeks. His stats so far this season are down …You or I don’t know the cause of the drama. But management did, and we should trust that it sent the right guy packing. The viability of the body is more important than a particular limb, you do what must be done. They must and will find success without miller.

If you look at what miller did this season im happy hes gone.
We’ll see Miller in the cup final…! Pettersson is a Stud… and will play with Hronek, Myers (can’t believe I’m saying this) stays put, he’s played his best hockey of the season since moving Hronek to the 2nd pairing, and Hronek’s game hasn’t suffered any, Soucy and (you forgot about) Mancini (he’s the sleeper part of this deal) will round out the bottom pairing, Forbort is you #7, waive Juulsen. Getting him more ice time will help him stay ready if there are injuries. DPetty has proved he doesn’t lookout of place with the big boys, send him down so he gets first pairing minutes and leads Johny Canuck to a championship! Trade Boeser (I can’t believe I’m saying that I love Boeser) for Nelson or O’Riely…

I think we can all agree if this is what helps our boys focus and JT Miller is happy then everything about the situation is a big plus. We were all expecting it so the let down isnt hitting as hard as usual. I hope Miller can help the Rangers and I also hope us fans do the JT Miller chant when he's in the building.

As a vans fan from my childhood. I quit watching after 2012 with the riots. Started watching again last season because they were so good! And now my second favourite player on the Canucks I’ve grown to love is now gone. I don’t feel excited to watch the Canucks play. I’m excited to watch Quinn Hughes play. I never noticed petterson on the ice even with his 100 point season. Miller garland Hughes are the top effort players on that team. Why the hell does Vancouver want 3 fuckin pettersons? I’m sorry but Pete should have been the one to go. He was the one shitting the bed and couldn’t stand on his fucking skates? Are we really just letting this kid dictate who we trade away? Rant over. I’m sad. I hope the Canucks do start to improve after this
