Hartman’s suspension looms: How will it impact the Wild? #minnesotawild #mnwild

The Minnesota Wild’s 6-0 loss to the Ottawa Senators was their worst performance of the season. John Hynes’ post-game press conference lasted just 72 seconds, reflecting his frustration. Ryan Hartman faces a potential six-game suspension for his match penalty, leaving the Wild shorthanded. The team’s lack of effort was evident in their dismal stats: 16 shots on goal compared to Ottawa’s 52, a 29.3% face-off win rate, and 19 giveaways. Filip Gustavsson was left exposed, facing an onslaught of shots. Host Seth Toupal breaks down the embarrassing loss, analyzes Hartman’s disciplinary hearing, and discusses the implications for the Wild’s roster and upcoming games. Can the Wild bounce back from this humiliating defeat, or will it derail their season? Get the full breakdown of this NHL disaster and its consequences in this hard-hitting episode.

  1. Further proof that the Wild need not waste draft capital on an aging veteran. Their squad needs more development and an infusion of talent from their prospect pool before it's time to add pieces. They are not close to a cup contender – yet.

  2. Hartman deserved to be ejected from that weekend game against the Sens. That push-down onto Tim Stützle’s neck was vicious, dangerous, totally unnecessary and deserves supplementary discipline.

  3. Even without the suspensions I’ve never been a Hartman fan. History of ill-timed stupid penalties (ask Dean Evason) and, even with a plum spot on the top line with Kaprizov and Zucc, he was usually more of a spectator than a participant. Had one o.k. season. A largely forgettable player.

  4. Sens fans boo the national anthem. More proof the Canadian teams, and their arrogant insufferable fans, need to be be disbanded from the league.
    It's time.

  5. 16:22 “You see it with DWIs a lot.” The official Ontario🇨🇦 Ministry of Transportation Driver’s Handbook, under the section “Other ways to lose your license,“ mentions, under “Criminal Code suspensions”:

“You will receive a one-year licence suspension the first time you are convicted of a Criminal Code offence. Subsequent offences increase substantially to a lifetime ban from driving. Convictions will remain on your driver’s record for a minimum of 10 years.“

Googling “minimum of 10 years“ resulted, near the top of the first page of such a search, that very link to that very section of that driver’s handbook. I wish such convictions were logged permanently onto a person’s Canadian driving record but keeping such suspensions logged for years, rather than months, certainly is a step in the right direction. I wish the NHL Player Safety Department logged such actions during a given player’s career, and considered, in whether to mete out supplementary discipline, going back more than the 18th month before the most-recent incident. it’s not like Hartman has changed his ways.

  6. Anyone else disappointed with Foligno's post game statement? Faber called it like it is. Captain material for sure.

  7. As Sens fan, I was looking forward to a competitive tilt. Like you, I thought – a really good road team vs a really good home team, this should be a great Saturday night game.
I'm happy about the result, but I definitely wasn't expecting the Wild to roll over like that. But every team lays a stinker once in awhile, I'm sure Minnesota will rebound.
And lastly, I was disgusted by the fans that booed the US anthem. I get we have brainwashed people here who hate Trump, but booing an anthem over politics is absurd.

  8. Hello everyone, yes it's my birthday, I'm sorry for no show today, I'm in no condition to do a show, I well tell you this
I believe Hartman gets ten games suspension , there's no place in Hockey for this type of play,
    SEE YOU Soon Denny

  9. As a sens fan who has a soft spot for gustavsson, the fact thay he let in 6 but still had an 885 save percentage says something. He never stopped trying to stop the puck. Youve got a good one in him, take care of him

  10. Jeepers Seth. Did you even watch the game? I would certainly admit that they played poorly, but they started out in the first period as they often do—slow. Kind of hard to try and "break the chains" and "break on through" when guys like Hamonic are holding, interfering and right in front of the refs and there is no call. Zub was the same way all game. Stutzle is a good player, but he is also a hack and uses his stick all the time in ways that he shouldn't. I watch a lot of hockey. I've watched a lot of Sens hockey too. They are a good team and I root for them to bust through and make the playoffs this year, but that was one of the poorest officiated games I've seen all year. Guerin and Wild leadership addressed this last year with the league and it just doesn't change.

  11. Sens fan here – I wanted to apologize to Wild fans and Americans for the disgraceful booing during the American national anthem. I get the political anger, but this was a hockey game and your team was visiting and deserving of respect.

  12. Seth is the man! I always make sure to catch the podcast for post game no matter what. The Wild/Sens game was embarrassing… It wasn't even a "shit happens" game. 👎👎

  13. The worst part that really pissed me off, was that Hartman was just standing there smiling about it….not realizing he just completely fucked the entire team last night. If he's gone for good…I wouldn't give 2 shits……I understand playing like shit, but u just gave a big "fuck you" to ur teammates

  14. i was expecting a 3-2 game. Like the good old days. The wild will bounce back. Hartman is getting the book thrown on him though. I'm happy Gus was able to turn around well for you guys. St-Paul looks like a nice city to visit though! Cheers from up North!
