Props to Henry on everything – it takes serious time to do what he does and you can tell he is one of the biggest UFC fans out there.
Henry Ruiz is an amazing OG MMA Collector. Whenever Im asked an impossible MMA question I’ll use his websites to find the answer. MMAStubs and MMARookies should be used by all MMA Collectors. IMO
My two favorite UFC resources together! I love it. Thanks to both of you for an amazing interview and all the work you guys do to help us collectors in the hobby. Your work is truly appreciated.
This is such a helpful resource! Thanks for spreading the knowledge guys, much appreciated!
Awesome video Zac! Didn’t know about Henry’s work! Definitely gonna be utilizing it! I would love to rip at least 1 or 2 packs of Round 1 at some point.
Or comc
great work guys. enjoy both of what you each do. keep it up!
I believe that eventually the actual first card issued of a fighter will be considered the true rookie card, rather than the current push to have every card issued from the full first year that is marked “RC” to be deemed a rookie card. Each fighter only has one true rookie card!
Enjoyed this convo guys, shining some light on Henry's work 👍 I still remember when 2009 R1 came out, considered buying a box, singles were rubbish condition on ebay, purchased a 1992 Topps Stadium Club Shaquille O'Neal Beam Team BGS 9.5 instead.
49:45 cracking fighter name drops
Great interview! Henry is a great guy hopefully this helps him get more support to him and his website
Best video! Thank you Zac and Henry
Cool stuff. I started collecting MMA cards with the 1996 Bandai K-1 set. Some notable rookies in that set include Cro Cop and Pedro Rizzzo. I then started collecting BBM and Pride. Finding sets I never knew existed like the 1995 BBM K-1 (all rookies) and the 1999 BBM Shooto set was really exciting.
My focus is MMA pioneers’ pre UFC releases. The only UFC cards I have are Oleg Taktarov and Mark Kerr as I haven’t found any old school releases of their’s. Oleg’s gong card is from an uncut sheet and would cost more than I’m prepared to spend. Cheers.
Great Interview. And Great Website!! thank you for creating that! Awesome resource
Awesome interview!! My son and I are planning to create a true rookie spreadsheet of who we both want to collect! This website is exactly what we needed, thank you.
Henry is the man… Great interview
