The Gulls lost 3-1 to the Toronto Marlies at Pechanga Arena on Friday. After a scoreless first period, the Marlies took a 2-0 lead in the second with goals from Alex Nylander and Alex Steeves. Jan Myšák responded quickly for the Gulls, but Toronto sealed the game with a late power-play goal from Nylander in the third. Calle Clang made 28 saves for San Diego, while Dennis Hildeby stopped 19 shots for the Marlies. San Diego struggled on the power play, going 0-for-5, while Toronto scored twice on six opportunities.
