In the limited action I saw from Mancini this year, he's gonna be a good addition for Vancouver. Better than getting Fils
As happy as I am to have JT on the Rangers again, it sucks to see Chytill go. Would've liked to let go of Zibby or Miller but I won't complain passed that
I don’t watch hockey
What would this be the equivalent of in the NBA
With all you said about Chytil, it’s absolutely wild the fact that you didn’t mention the absolute biggest ‘if’, meaning IF he can stay healthy.
The ONLY knock on Fil from NY fans and media alike, and the only thing consistent about him, is that he cannot stay in the roster.
Fil would have been an all star already whose status was unmovable if he could stay healthy. It’s literally as simple as that. They sold high on a guy who is both generally injury prone and has a long concussion history.
Miller never said he wanted to stay, he passively quit some games, he has defensive lapses, his point production is lower than EP40, played more minutes with better line mates, he is older, AND he had the audacity to pick a fight with Elias? None of you understand elite athletes. This is why Miller is a pest. You cannot be hypocritical. It is distasteful and it is easy being professional with 20-20 hindsight. Does not matter what he says or does now. He should have been contained and managed on the 2nd line. ALL on Miller & Tocchet.
How can you talk so much an miss the main points? Chytil is signed on a very team firendly 4,4m deal for 2 more years and has now the chance to become a proper 2nd line center. He`s 25 can play PP and score more as with NYR.
Miller is getting 32 and while having scored 30+ g 3x times and has reached 100pts almost twice, he`s a point per game player.
But he`s playing physical and with 5x more years for 8m you know his contract will turn bad at one point.
He is prone for down years and regress might already happen.
He also had a full NTC and the Rangers were pretty much the only team that was realistic.
For that, they paid quiet a lot. A solid young middle 6 center on a team friendly deal with upside, a 1st rounder, a prospect and 3,5m cap space.
Nucks used that space and the 1st rounder to clean out their mess from the summer. They dumped Heinen and Desharnais in exchange for Marcus Pettersson – funny enough, the Nucks now have 3 of these guys. 2x Elias and Marcus also – and Drew O`Connor.
Their D for sure looks pretty good now.
Ah… the chaos giraffe. That joke gets me every time. 😂
2:38 hey what's wrong with elias petterson 2 he just got there
In the end, the deal for the Canucks was JT Miller and a couple of failed projects or unknown prospects for Chytil, a highly skilled, big but often injured centre, Marcus Pettersson, an excellent top 4 defensive defenseman and a defensive prospect who already has NHL experience and seems like he'd be a perfect fit on the bottom pair, again as a defensive defenseman. They weakened their forward group potentially (depending on what Chytil does) to strengthen their defence and give the make up of the team, I'm okay with that. A lot of Canucks fans are on the anti-Swede bandwagon, so of course they naturally assume that because Marcus is Swedish and shares a name with a teammate who is a punching bag for bullies, he's soft. Marcus Pettersson has some grit to his game. I just get tired of all the racism.
This trade makes abolutely no sense for the Rangers unless Drury thinks Miller can single-handedly will them into the playoffs.
Only way this isnt a steal for Vancouver, especially given the context of what has gone on with Miller in Vancouver, is if Chytil gets hurt again. That's it.
Mancini is a stud, got to flash some of his ability earlier this year.
Miller, 31 and 8mil for 5 more years no retain.
Edit: a rangers fan
Leafs could have made this trade. Another one bites the dust. I try to make a move for Owen Power in the offseason. If Marner leaves I also try to bring in a bunch of free agents to bolster the depth. If JT signs for 3.5 I put him on the third line. That or a move him and bring in Toews. Kampf gets bumped to the fourth line and you bring in a couple of vets to play with Minten, McMann and Cowen.
The Rangers still aren’t a playoff team and if they do make it, they’re getting dog walked by Florida or New Jersey in the first round. So now all they have is a high salary cap player on the wrong side of 30 who is already declining heavily. The 30 goal argument is beyond null at this point. He will never hit 30 goals again with the Rangers and will be a buyout candidate in 2 years
This was a bad trade why would u want to go to a contender rangers suck there not making the playoffs
Why is it that seemingly washed up has-beens go to the Rangers??
I wouldn’t call that a block buster. 1 good player.
Good Hockey Player, but the Rangers may have gained a locker room cancer they will regret. TBD
What do you mean in "blockbuster"? Lol canucks sent a guy who has been top 10 in the league in scoring 2 of the last 3 years and received in return Chytil? Lol I'm not even sure he's better than Brannstrom when it comes to value 😂… only Vancouver could figure out how to screw themselves this bad. Next I hear they're going to trade Hughes to NJ for the team goldfish 🤦♂️😂
Good trade. Miller is a locker room cancer.
Petterson is just being a baby. I would’ve tried to trade him. He’s been terrible since he signed and he was the problem
Didnpt the cunucks trade the first rounder for another petterson right after this video?
CHYTIL is one hard hit from being finished. I hope that doesn't happen but it's a fact
for who?…who?
Peter Laviolette can ruin any young guy so who knows how Chytil will do in Vancouver.
Victor Mancini…. There is quite a bit of Italia in the NHL. Be really cool if they all could play for team Italy.
Chytil has not reached his ceiling, which is a given for any forward drafted by the Rangers in my lifetime. He’s…kind of like JT Miller before the Rangers traded him away, aside from being injury prone. We aren’t good at developing forwards. If Chytil stays healthy this will benefit both him and Miller who both needed a change of scenery.
Wait until the Canucks fans see Mancini, a lot of us ranger fans were more upset about giving up Mancini than Chytil. Mancini is really good and he’s going to only get better. You guys are going to like him.
I wonder how Zibinajad and Miller will get along
I feel like this shouldn’t be under stated as much as it has been. I’m not trying to be harsh but this is wild to me.. These two guys ruined a teams season, messed with the path set out by the organization, caused significant personal problems and stress for everybody in that room, and now the team is forced to lose a trade (or two) just to dump the mess. All because 2 guys couldn’t sort out their issues.. that’s insane, this is the NHL.
I remember the issues that happened in Ottawa with the players wives, that’s basically the only viable excuse for this (family member involvement), if it was anything else these players should have an asterisk next to their names going forward as severely problematic.
Not a Miller fan ….. Stamkos would have been a better addition 🏒
