I like this trade from both sides… Flames get deeper in the top 9, and Flyers get rid of players who don't want to be there.
I get Tortz is hard to play for, but the Flyers can put together a group of people that will want to play for him, and when they do, they'll be rock solid.

Frank over evaluating Farabee and frost sorry but i have watched the inconsistency of Frost and Farabees bloated 5 M contract for 3 more years and 2 straight seasons with 20 game droughts for goals for Farabee 2 seasons in a row….enough already plus Joel has stunk and that is a fact. TheFlyers are doing this trade for cap flexability and Frost was not going to be extended. Please Frank Farabee and Frost were great at disappearing for LONG stretches.

This is so frustrating as a Flames fan. No shot at a Cup or any line of sight to one, and we cite the worst contract in the league (Huberdeau) and a moveable contract (Kadri) as reasons we can't rebuild. No path to contention without it, we've won 2 series in 20 years, no hope of opening a window. The team is entrenched in mediocrity, and this sth is letting them go next season. I just can't support this acquiescence to sucking like Jenna year after year.

This was a salary dump for the Flyers and trying to help Michkov get a comfortable with a teammate that he played with before!
This trade only helps the Flyers if they use the 5 million from Farabee’s contract to sign another player this summer!!
