  1. Hot take: Rangers: Miller turns back into the Elite player he is starts lighting it up with Bread, Mika, Laffy Rangers charge back into playoff contention. Canucks: Chytle chronic injury problems continue and is average while hes not injured. M. Petersson never ends up moving the needle very much. Petey continues is sub par play and things start to get worse as the pressure on his shoulders grows exponentially. Canucks miss playoffs. Roster is a mess. And the future of Hughes staying in Van starts to become in jeopardy because of the shit show. My money is on that being the most likely outcome. And I'm pretty damn sure too.

  2. Good trade for Canucks we got someone to play with Hughes and Miller is older good job canucks 👍🏾👍🏾

  3. Canuck fan here. Rutherford and Allvin need to be fired for knowing about the feud and signing both players to long-term deals. Then trading away Desharnais and Heinen, two guys they signed in the off-season, tells us they are not good evaluators of talent. Fire them. And FJT. How unprofessional of both him and Petey. Grow up beyond middle school. I give up on this team.

  4. Good analysis of the trade, and it had to happen. The Canucks with JTM did not seem likely to have any playoff success; perhaps there is even less likelihood now, but at least they cleared up some cap space and can look forward to a 1st round draft pick.
The next big question is how well the rest of the team can step up to fill the leadership vacuum created by Miller's departure.

  5. I think the Canucks did as well as they could have with this trade. I fully expected them to flip the first – I didn’t have to wait long lol

  6. I'm sad to see Chytil go. My gut as a Rangers fan tells me this isn't it, but at the same time, I feel like Chytil will hit his stride outside of NY like Kakko is.

For the time being, I think this is a good even trade, Canuks want depth and future, Rangers are looking for star power and a spark for their already talented roster. I really do wish Chytil the best, I really enjoy watching him play and I think he's gonna be awesome in Vancouver. The trade gets the goals for both teams done, but I think Vancouver edges the rangers out in the long run.

Take care of Fil Vancouver 🙁

  7. The comments are ridiculous here. This is a brutal trade.
Van just got rid of their all time 2nd best center in their history. 60% FO. Two 100 point seasons and a dominant two playoff rounds. Signed for 8M.
    For what?
A junk 3rd center with five concussions. A 5th round big young D and a mid 1st. 15th at best.
This is absolutely garbage. I do not care what the hockey guy tries to sell.

  8. Rangers fans aren't declaring Rangers winners. Many wanted the team to get younger. He better play out of his mind or he's getting run out of the Garden.

  9. I like the idea of keeping the pick too Shannon. The Canucks are actually pretty solid at the draft table when they have a pick lol.

  10. The VC Soap Opera reminds me of the Gilmore Girls

    Are you Team Dean?

    Or are you Team Jess?

    (Ignore $$$ Logan.)

So the Producers decide to write Jess out of the show.

Does that mean that all those who were on Team Jess, suddenly switch to being Team Dean?

Or are they bitter about Jess being gone?

    The VC World Turns.

My bet: Garland out by trade deadline.

  11. It's interesting to hear you note that the Rangers taking on the whole contract is a big win for Vancouver considering you really liked the Miller contract back when it was signed

  12. Vancouver wins this trade very day – They offload a manchild that can't stand Vancouver best player and future, EP. They get more cap space, another 1st round pick, and two decent players on very low salary.

  13. Fully agree with everything you said Shannon! Plus, the Canucks don’t have to take on Lindgren like in the original deal that fell through (don’t know how they talked the Rangers out of that).

  14. Allvin: "Hey Jim, I got two first round picks now"
JR: "I HATE having two first round picks! Get rid of one!."

  15. "trader Jim" and Allvin will use the 1st rd. pick with maybe Hoglander and a lower prospect with $6 million in cap space they have and double that at the trade deadline to make another trade ala the Hronek trade to get another centre and maybe another defenceman to make the team bigger and better. Hopefully now that the emotional elephant in the room like Elvis, has left the building, Petey can get back to the focused player he was when he lit up the league as a rookie with his alien skillset and amazing hockey IQ!

  16. I am so happy the Canucks made this trade. That first round draft pick didn't last very long. I have always thought JTM was a beast, but carried just too much baggage. Too many bad passes. Too many bad pressure decisions. Compare this to EP40 who always makes the right decision. I hope Miller does good things for the Rangers, but I am so glad Petey can spread his wings again. And the returns in this trade seem positive. Now, since Shannon released this video the Canucks have given up the 1st rounder for some good hole fillers. Obviously this deal was waiting on the back burner. All in all, very happy.

  17. well theres no question this trade makes rangers stronger today…as for a 1st round pick they obviously are always good aswell…but theres a problem…the pick is only available this year to the canucks this year if rangers finish the bottem 13 teams in nhl…and thats not happening…so its actually a 2026 1st round pick the canucks are aquiring not 2025…chytl a solid player…i still fell canucks could have did better on this deal…

  18. Nyr are confusing trading away the youth on the team for aging miller that is known to have locker room issues they got all that cap space one player isn’t going to fix the rangers

  19. Noticed you didn't mention the concussions history of chytil at.all. One hit and the man could be in retirement

  20. Miller is the best player in the trade, but his trade value is nowhere near his production/play. I was hoping they would wait til the off season to make this kind of move in the hopes his value came back up a bit. But they got decent value for how rock bottom Millers value has been.
