We just witnessed NHL history

21 years after Marc-André Fleury, who recorded his first career shutout as a teenager way back on October 30th of 2003 in Chicago, made NHL history again tonight against the Montreal Canadiens becoming the first goal tender to record a shutout both as a teenager as well as at 40 years of age or older. In what was an emotional night marking his final game playing in his native province of Quebec, he put on a show as the Minnesota Wild faced off against the Montreal Canadiens with moments of Vintage Fleury. The final leg of a farewell tour that has seen him play his final games in Pittsburgh, Chicago, Vegas and now his home, Montreal. As you’d imagine, the fans sent him off with a night he will not soon forget! This was a great game and I cover it all and more in todays NHL hockey video!

  1. So sick of the farewell tour. Never seen a player get his ass kissed in every city like this. Who gives a F? So what… he’s average. Just go away already. Bye Felicia

  2. You know, I’m not even mad that the Habs lost. This was a beautiful game for Fleury. A great way to finish his career…with a victory in his hometown. Congrats on a shutout win and I hope you have an amazing future.

  3. Probably one of the few times, Habs fans are okay with being shut out 4-0 at home. Fleury is one of the greats.

  4. Fleury is one of those players that is impossible to dislike. We are lucky to be in a time where we can see him play. I still say that the biggest mistake the Pittsburgh Penguins ever made was letting him go. They should have kept him a Penguin for life.

  5. he has to be the most loved goalie. scratch that. PLAYER in the whole league. if you hate this man then you need to check yourself

  6. Just when you think that NHL hockey has turned into a steaming pile of dog shit, this happens. I'm not saying I'm totally refreshed, but this definitely helps. But now, nothing to look forward to but more mediocre/ shitty hockey!

  7. I never win those things, but being from Brasil and winning my first NHL Jersey like that would be insane. Love the vids, the channel, thank you for all.

  8. Quebecker here (oddly enough not a fan of hockey) go figure
This is a moment in time i should remember for a long time (with my memory probably not)
Félicitation Marc-André Fleury sur une belle carrière (french line here)
Congrats Marc-André Fleury on a great carrer

  9. Pure class all around! Players, fans and of course, Fleury himself. Only a few players have left such a mark on the league and he is definitely one of them!

  10. Being a québécois and habs fan. I always appreciated fleury. Love the guy. He was my favourite goaltender growing up im just gonna miss him along side brodeur and Price . Next Quebec goalie that will be a superstar imo (hope so too) is gabby d’aigle Wich is coming in this year’s draft. Fleury will be missed and not only for us Quebecois but across the league as well. You will always be my #1 goalie. May you enjoy your retirement Flower 29!!

  11. Fleury has 2 homes: QC and Pittsburgh. It's a shame Pens wouldn't protect him at the time of the Vegas draft. But, the fact Pittsburgh had 4 star players for over a decade, you can't complain. Wish Fleury would win the cup this season. But, "wish"ful thinking doesn't always come true.

  12. Hockey players do it right! Fight hard, but when the game is over, acknowledge a shared moment of greatness. WHAT a milestone, especially for a goalie! Congrats to Marc-Andre Fleury! Ironic that he has two first names, because if often seemed as if there were TWO goalies in that net, juggling every shot aimed their way. Fantastic performance.
