State of the Sharks: Sharks365 Member Event

Earlier this week, Sharks 365 members were invited to a Q&A session with GM Mike Grier, Head Coach Ryan Warsofsky, and President Jonathan Becher. Brodie Brazil breaks down the conversation.

  1. Brodie getting risky with Becher since Becher’s the one that hired him 😂😂

  2. Thank you for posting this although it would have been great to see the full-unedited version. Transparency, especially during a rebuild, is always appreciated. Props to Grier for handling the Q related to Couture. I think we are all trying to understand the ROI with his situation/contract/lack of C on the ice. The team is definitely suffering from a lack of coaching behind the bench and leadership on the ice. That said – hey, at least our merch sales have doubled since last year.

  3. Thank Brodie for posting this, I was wondering why there were camera's since this wasn't being streamed! 1 suggestion for future state of the Sharks, please more in arena questions! We 365 came out on a none game night, (for this team) it's sad we only got 6 or 7 questions! That's my only grip.

  4. Great highlights from a longer discussion, but given this short version makes us all want to hear the rest of your discussion. Maybe Mike Grier cannot really expose his real thoughts enough because of his strategic position and need to keep negotiations and injury info private for the team's sake. The fans always want more information but that does not help with future trades or drafts. I hope when Mike Grier writes his hockey memoirs in 20 years that he finally tells fans all the secrets we were missing and why he choose one path for rebuilding than another. The best example of a recent rebuild I think is the Florida Panthers and what turned them into a contender was the key 2013 draft of Alexander Bartov at #2 overall and then the big 2022 trade for Matthew Tkachuk, and finding Sam Reinhart and the right role players to support their stars. Balancing the 10 stars you need to become a contender with the 10 role players you need to support them is what is most difficult for a GM because you need them all and salary cap ties your hands, so you can't always get what you want.

  5. Although I'm a local, I'm glad to see the team growing around the country/world.

My family and I have gone to 6 games this season and we have a flex pass for another 4 (not including complimentary tickets for a varied number of reasons) and more cuda' games.

We're really flirting with the idea of either many more "flex pass" games for the 25/26 season or full blown season tickets.

Keep up the good work Brodie!

  6. 9:16 I hadn’t watched the Sharks since the Nabokov days an when I heard we were so bad that we got the number 1 pick. I’ve completely dived back into every corner of the NHL. From the Swayman/Ullmark saga, to learning about enforcers like Rempe, Arber, Lomberg. To Ovi chasing the great one and how someone needs to save Sid the Kid. Idk how the Sharks did it but they got me into hockey like I never missed it. The next move is to buy a jersey I already have 2 new hats. But I thank you all for lighting that hockey fire 🔥 in my soul. And Celebrini is just a 200ft gem. And him alone brings hope

  7. Super glad the Sharks brought Brodie to cover the team! I love the SAP center and hope it’s the Sharks permanent home after 2025
