Let's be honest the last 5 weeks Montreal overachieved and are now back to reality. It was fun but truthfully they are still a 500 team. I also feel that Marty has been out-coached too many times this year. Laine seems way too slow and is it really wise to offer him an extension? I say wait till next year then decide. Montreal has no toughness not in fighting but as in someone checking you through the boards.
If they start slowing down, fall out of a playoff spot, and finish strong, I would consider that still a good season. Also, they did pick up a point in two of those four loses.
Yall know that picture of Caufield lookihg up at the sky frustrated…Thats how I feel right now.
The Habs are doing well, but with so many good teams going for the wildcard spots the chances are slim.
Heineman was a part of the best 4th line in the league. They have done very little since his injury.
To me I'm ok if we don't make the playoffs and I am not saying to give up but I really think next year should be a better year for them with Demidov. It's patience we need with these players our goaltending is not fantastic. Ya next year Go Habs Go
Stop already, the Habs are not a contender this year, they’re making the right moves but there are still to many pieces missing, defensively they’re young , offensively they’re inconsistent and most of the time the hang their goalies out to dry. It’s going to take time but in the meantime enjoy the progress.
Evans has had opps but not been able to finish, so not having Heineman there has not led to his missed opps… I think they're done
Let's be honest did Winnipeg get any penalties? There seems to be a bias in the refereeing circle against The Canadiens just a thought but it is real
I don't believe the schedule is conducive to the Habs making the playoffs. Too many tough matches and no time between games. Add to that the recent injuries etc..none of that is helping. So what do they do with all their pending free agents now? I am of the opinion that they should sell off a couple of them at least. Dvorak for sure. And perhaps Savard if it becomes clearer by the trade deadline that the Habs aren't making the playoffs.
Great points ! I think Hughes has to show some balls and complain to the league about this one sided reffing .
You nailed it
We were never actually good , we were just hot . Msl is a horrible coach period . Our team is not built to win , we need to trade off out ufa's. Look at washington last year ,sold and retooled . Look at flames trade yesterday, excellent trade . Msl has no idea how to develop slaf nor wifi , msl has no idea to coach a proper nhl play structure, all he is good for is the powrr play
Habs will win in California and will be back in it
Shaun, I love your show and know you read your comments. To me the volume is really low. Like most, listening at work with my headphones on and I find it hard to hear you. Keep up the great work btw!!!

Too soon to make any evaluations imo….if we're in it in March keep everyone I agree but if the deadline rolls around, we're 5-7 points out and quality offers are on the table then he has to strongly consider that. The ridiculous ideas about signing Evans for 5-6 years at 4mil per season when he was hot should also now be put to bed. He's an excellent 4th liner but if the contract demands aren't home town discounted then see what NJ wants to pay for him.
Thanks Shaun, I enjoy your show. Everyone has to stop and realize most players of the team are still quite young and inexperienced. They need time to work together, learn with each other, and improve their skills. It takes time and patience.
We have to stop living in a McDonald's drive-thru mentality kind of society.
The future is looking bright for the Habs, they r just going through a slump,I believe they will get back on track
I love what the Habs are doing. On their hot streak, they showed they can compete with the best teams in the league. They are young, and the most important thing they need to master is consistency, being a professional every game. I am not surprised at the drop off. But we definitely need to get their mind set adjusted to playing hard and smart every game, every period, every minute on the ice.
The refs missed at least a dozen missed calls in the last 2 games.
Having to beat the Ref's and the opponents, has sucked the life out of this team. We are on the way back to a top ten pick!
Can't wait for the "5pm à 7pm" but hope it's not on the 21st of February. I will be in Vermont that evening to see highly touted draft prospect James Hagen in action against the University of Vermont, unless you have it in that area. 🤣
Another great show, hate that i missed but work does get in the way at times. I agree with everything you talked about today, a bunch of great points. Let's not forget that the Habs were not a surefire playoff team. Being in the mix to me means playing important games deep into the season. They are doing that so this season is a success.
