  1. So, now Oilersnation you can't hide Skinner behind 'bad defense'. Have you ever seen in any recent memory 2 goals in 2 shots in SO? I haven't

  2. Game 51. Long post follows with base game statistics including some for the Detroit Redwings. Read, don't read, up to you. These are BASE stats not detailed ones. My comments and observations at the end.

Still can't watch or listen to games while I wait for surgery.

First period, all Oilers. Leon on the first goal (PP). Jeff Skinner got credited eventually for the second goal (which originally went to Hyman). Detroit gave up 3 power play opportunities and the Oilers only capitalized on the first one (in this period).

Second period, Oilers took the foot off the gas. Goals by Rasmussen and Larkin tied it up. Ekholm took a tripping penalty with 5:31 remaining in the second period. Nuggy had a chance for a shortie (blocked by Seider). Oilers killed the penalty.

Third period Lyon and Skinner didn't let anything in. Same in OT. In the shootout Connor and Nuge couldn't get one past Lyon and Skinner let in both shots he faced so we loose 3-2 in the Shootout getting a Bettman point.

Noah Philp was having a rough night in the circle tonight going 1 win in 5 tries but even Leon was below 50% (and Connor, Nuge, Hyman).

On the plus side LA was shut out by Tampa Bay tonight and Vegas lost in OT to Columbus so we're tied in points but have a game in hand still on Vegas. LA has the Hurricanes next. Vegas has the Rangers. We have Toronto. Going to be fun.

    Take care all
