  1. Morgan Rielly is more like a Spurgeon-type D-Man. Solid 1-B option, but not a franchise superstar. Laughs chose to spend their superstar budget on forwards, now they have to lay in the bed they built, if they don't like it, it's on them.

  2. In my honest opinion, Minnesota didn’t really shut it down right, Leafs didn’t play like Leafs. Something must be going on to drive the Leafs to be better. They give up when they lose the puck.

  3. The only bright spot in the Minnesota game was Robertson was playing like his life depended on it. The system is killing the creativity of the team, I know what the leafs are going to do in the o zone, so I am pretty sure the other team does. Look at the two goals, it wasn't "system" originated, it was random stuff, just like the 2 wild goals. Enough with trying to pass the puck for a one timer to the red line in the corner, start shooting from the slot, and the leafs have to start being ready to be in position to shoot the second they have the puck, they always take 2 to 3 seconds to set up a shot, and never catch the defense or goalie off guard.

  4. In my honest opinion, Minnesota didn’t really shut it down right, Leafs didn’t play like Leafs. Something must be going on to drive the Leafs to be better. They give up when they lose the puck. JT is the true Captain and it shows now.

  5. It's absolutely hilarious to watch this show, without saying as much, pine for the Keefe's Leafs of pretty possession and passing and high scoring. The same perimeter Leafs that got you bounced early year after year. The problem isn't Berube's system; it's that your roster isn't built for it. Outside of your 4th line, no one is willing to truly forecheck shift after shift (and some players look like they have no idea how to do it). Your GM extended Domi, a guy who's a defensive liability, plays on the periphery, and doesn't hit or forecheck at all (and never did before he joined the Leafs). Your roster construction, both under Dubas and Treliving, is poor, in large part because your overpaid superstars won't do the hard stuff, not in the way required to win when it counts. And they've left money for no one else. You want to fix the Leafs? Break up your core, get over the fear of losing ballerina Marner, and build a deep, truly tough roster with Matthews and Nylander as your primary scorers. I guarantee you the rest of the Atlantic will respect you a lot more in the playoffs.

  6. As a Blues fan, I find it hilarious how Leafs fans have the audacity to complain that Berube's style is 'boring'. After decades of absolutely ZERO Playoff success, you need to realize, you can't have your cake and eat it too. Run and gun regular seasons; out in Round 1, or boring, hard checking play that works in the Playoffs. Berube is a great coach, if the Leaf players work with him.

  7. They have to put domi with matthews knies, line 2 Willie Tavares and marner , line 3 McMann mad maxx maybe nick or whatever, once they are healthy not sure why they are not trying something like this. Willie is scoring without support but that line would bolster a second scoring option and domi played well with matthews last season

  8. I feel they had the peices but the cap and JT signing ruined it. The depth is some of the worse in the league. Ain’t happening again this year.

  9. Rielly is first and foremost the problem on the Leafs, lazy, sloppy, entitled and absolutely no accountability. -17!
    Malaise, dog days, Rielly's way.

  10. The system is working very well. The problem is exactly what Berube said last night. He thought they weren't too cute (but they really were) with the puck because they honestly did much better against Minnesota this past game, but they were a second or a split moment too slow on plays. They need a Sam Reinhart type of tenacious mentality, like get the puck and rip it but settle it when necessary but they just gotta rip it low and quick and get that greaze. One tees or settle and snap it right away on more plays or settle and wrist it but just try to make the goalie panic and get timing quicker. Blast loose pucks.

  11. There's still something more lacking from the Leafs. I think injuries are drying up the scoring forwards. But the defense that never scores and still no bomb option from the point is something every other good team has.

  12. Rielly has either lost a step, or he's out of shape. Hopefully it's the latter, because that's fixable. Berube should be lowering his ice time or putting him on bottom pair for awhile. Send him some kind of message. I;ve been a staunch defender of Rielly for a long time, but his play lately is really alarming. Been going on for too long, something has to give.

  13. Okay after this intro : Kyper is the hot head Dad, Bourne is the devils advocate Mom and Sammy is the child that just wants to be loved for his quirks. 😂

  14. Why do you guys keep mentioning injuries when the inferior team came into your home and taught you how to please your wife? Oh and WITHOUT Kirill Kaprizov 😂

  15. The problem is the leafs are playing the same style that won the Blues that cup when they aren’t constructed AT ALL the same as them! They don’t have 4 grit lines they can roll through, they’ve failed to attach grit around the stars because their grit is only in 4th line caliber players and not guys you can play up the lineup with the stars. In addition, that system feeds off a roster that has a bunch of above average guys with no real stars: THATS NOT THE LEAFS! We don’t have a consistent lineup, we have a lineup with big disparities between the top and bottom half. They needed a coach and a system that has won while elevating their stars and hiding their bottom half, more like a Coach Q in Chicago style

  16. 14:15 EXACTLY JB!!! If you have stars, USE THEM!! Don’t make them play the same game as an average third liner! You pay them to be special, not average

  17. As a Leaf fan… I dont care if the hockey games are boring. I just care about seeing them win. If we can win some rounds in the playoffs with this style… im all for it! But, the Leafs need to find a way to score and improve their passing.

  18. leafs…7 points from being out of the playoffs…they lose to oilers saturday…5 poins from being out of the playoffs…heat is on

  19. The leafs need a centre ..winger and another Dman. Riely needs a fresh start on another team and the leafs could aquire a position needed. Triviling needs to make some moves
