Live, recorded play-by-play of the 2024-25 NHL Week 16 game between the Vancouver Canucks and the Edmonton Oilers.
Things got very heated the last time both the Canucks and Oilers met. While the Canucks held off an Oilers comeback attempt to win 3-2, the game was highlighted by two separate cross-checks. One was from Connor McDavid after he was tangled up by Conor Garland and hauled down to the ice, giving a gloved punch to Garland to get himself free, only for Garland to retaliate and bring him down. Then McDavid delivered. The other was from Tyler Myers after he finished a hit to Evan Bouchard, and after the two exchanging light slashes. Both McDavid and Myers have each since received three-game suspensions, with this game being the second game in which they are serving their suspesnions. This rematch of last year’s Western Conference Semifinals series has an added sense of heatedness to it given the circumstances.
