Truthfully, if Letang and Malkin would retire after this season, that would help Dubas get the Pens younger faster. We all love what they've done here, but that's just me wishing.
You forgot caps add new head coach with new system and new ideas and open to anything something pens don’t do I think pens front office show learn from caps and don’t be scared to change and things so on
so the point about having three ageing stars is that you don't trade away a first-round pick for a fourth one. That's why I said before the trade for number 65 rows made that it was a very bad idea and his team wasn't making a playoff run.
Looks that in Penguins system based all on the veterans player's Crosby, Malkin, Letang, Karlsson also Rust, Rakell over 30years. Quite difficult to be opponent to young and strong teams.
Yesterday i watched bit Dallas and Colorado game. There are also in tge rosters olders guys, but system not based only on them. Younger players get more responsibility. This game looked quite crazy McKinnon Rantanen one side, Duchen young Finish player otherside. Lot of Speed and skills on the ice.
Maybe Penguins 🐧 have to think about it, how to bring inside young and hungry players and coach there is no need to punish them for every mistake. Better give bit freedom and responsibility.
60 yrs ago a HS hockey coach taught me if their D-man is taking a slap shot from the point, get the heck out of the way and let your goalie see the puck. Not our Pens, early on Beuvilier tips a 65 ft shot past Bloomqvist!!! You can’t make this up!!!
6:24 There is no truth to this garbage. In 2019 the Pens drafted Sam Poulin in the 1st round 21st overall. Next, the Caps drafted Connor McMichael in 2019 in the 1st round 25th overall. The Pens would go on to draft Nathan Legare with the 74th overall pick. Next, the Caps drafted Aliaksei Protas with the 91st overall pick. SAM POULIN IS A BUST WITH ZERO CAREER GOALS. Sam Poulin has 12 career games with zero goals and 2 assists for 2 points. Connor McMichael has 44 career goals. Protas has 19 goals on the season and 32 career goals. McMichael and Protas could have actually BOTH been drafted by the Pens who went with BUSTS Sam Poulin and Nathan Legare. The Pens drafted Brayden Yager with their 1st round pick while the Caps traded a 1st for Rasmus Sandin. Jakob Chychrun was traded to the Washington Capitals on July 1, 2024, for defensemen Nick Jensen and a third-round pick in the 2026 draft. Chychrun is 3rd in the league with 13 goals. Chrychrun was rumored to the Pens. The Pens would sign Ryan Graves on July 1, 2023. Graves has 0 points and SUCKS. OUR GMs SUCK!!!!!
This team is completely cooked and finished. No playoffs for three straight seasons. Crosby and Malkin with only 20 goals combined and a collective -37. Father Time comes for everyone and they won’t see the playoffs again next season as well.
if you scrutinize opponents goals its always a giveaway , a stupid pass, bad coverage etc. its rarely a Paul coffee type rush that goes thru everybody and scoring a goal . blomquist deserved a better fate , he will be fine !
In a word the Pens looked 'dainty' out there last night. This has been the problem for the Pens for years now…the Caps with their big hard hitting team exposed that..This is what happens in the playoffs for the Pens (when they get in) for years now when the intensity picks up. The Ovie line is enormous! He's maybe 6'3. The other dudes are even taller..and they arent stick figures like Peddersson (our tough guy).
I agree, Washington is heads and tales better then the Penguins. I disagree with Sully, to say this was a closely played game, come on, Blomqvist kept the Penguins in this one. Here is where I'll get some hate. Line one needs dismantled and revamped. They are the offense for the Penguins, but all too often are on the ice for goals against. All the smoke being blown up Rust's backside, he's not that great in his own end and really skillset wise is not a line one guy. Rakell offensively is having a hell of a year, but he is cheating that end of the ice and gets caught drifting the top of the zone. I hate to say it, Sid almost looks checked out at times, is he frustrated, is he tired? With that said he is still dragging guys with him and making great passes that are whiffed on, shot four feet wide……and no one is really setting up Sid, dare I say looking him off and shooting? None the less, at a combined -57, line one is not strong 5 on 5, they are going against everyone's best and they are not winning head to head or the games. A simple switch of Bunting and Rust, maybe that improves things, but Sully would never, Rust is his boy, and Bunting is not, even though Bunting is a way better all around player if given the opportunity that Rust is gift wrapped. The moral of the story is, when your line one isn't good enough to compete, good chance the three other lines are treading water too.
I don't feel confident that Dubas has a hockey mind that's developed and shrewd enough to make those fortune changing acquisitions that you speak of moving forward.
Really appreciate the motel horror story. 🤣 Definitely gives a cool behind the curtain view. Although I love the Pens coverage, and going on the rollercoaster of their seasons with Pgh Hockey Now, I would be lying if I said I wouldn't love a side channel of just that stuff.
Ohhh. My day got even worse when someone(s) stole my luggage off the plane in Denver. It was later recovered (the folks who took my 40 pound backpack didn’t turn it in. They just left it at the airport).

let's give our best third line centre to our rivals for nothing😂
btw dubas traded sandin away from toronto to wash and he's better than reilly and 3 million less
ah sullivan is learning dubas spin! 😂😂😂

While Pens were busy getting Kevin Hayes and Matt Grzlyck … they were grabbing real NHL players. Dubas …….

You forgot Bye Felicia when the Caps "fired" Peter Laviolette. The Caps new coach with a new system is Spencer Carbery.
Sully's right, it was a 1 goal game, Pens only had one goal.
On the bright side Avery Hayes has 6 points in his last 3 games lol , Sully called him a little Zuccarello

Hey Dan if you took pictures of the dirty bed and mentioned no linens like I’m sure you did, 100% you should not have to pay for that Airbnb

They are not a good team. They NEED TO REBUILD!!! Having Crosby changes nothing about that reality.
The stories from the road are what make you the best, Dan. Keep us posted on your refund!

I've been saying this for the past few years.

Well,, since they started defending better the shot volume has been cut in half..
Pens gotta sort it out.
Dude wipes 😂 🤮
