  1. As a die hard Avs fan…one thing not a lot of people have touched on, is that fact that Mikko held out a few days his first contract. He is more than deserving of the pay day, but I do think him holding out blew up in his face. Avs weren’t going to risk it.

  2. It would be sick to have Big Rig finish his career in St. Louis. You know Monty would take care of him and the veteran leadership he brings would make the Blues a force.

  3. To not mention how badly NJ needs to respond to the Carolina trade while injured and slumping… yands mentions NY and Fl.. what about Tampa or NJ? Are you asleep at the wheel on the east guy?

  4. Rantanen was ready to take less money then news are telling but AVS did trade him anyway. Hi from FINLAND 🇫🇮 AVS did F…..UP this not Rantanen.

  5. As a canes fan, I don't like Tony DeAngelo cause he blows in his own end and isn't good enough offensively to justify it lol

  6. Think one of the main reasons for the massive shock from my fellow Avs fans was that we all kinda expected to see 96 alongside 29, 8 and 92 up in the rafters one day. If you look at the Ball arena there are 3 jerseys around the building, 29, 8 and 96.

My heart is absolutely gutted about this trade – especially as Mikko was my favourite player all my Avs jerseys have 96 on the back! – but my head says that in the long run, it's probably for the best. Depth has been a HUGE problem for the Avs for a while and getting a depth centre in Drury and a first liner in Necas who may not get the star numbers as Mikko, it shouldn't be a massive dip in points, and can help spread the points around the lineup and hopefully ease a bit of pressure from the top line and all this whilst still saving cap space from the get go, it probably makes sense.

  7. Canes used to retain salary for other teams all the time in the dark days. We hoarded the picks for years and eventually built into this team. We actually still retained salary last year for a pick for another team.

  8. I feel like it's disingenuous to say the Avs didn't try. The reality is that market value for someone as good as Rantanen is probably around 14.5-14-75 million, even if he was willing to take significantly below market value in his mind, that could easily still mean 13.5 million, which the Avs simply couldn't afford when they go to resign Makar. They have three elite talents (Rantanen, Makar, MacKinnon), and the reality of the salary cap is that either they'd have no depth and keep those three people (the leafs strategy), or they can have depth, but only keep two of those elite talents (the avs strategy). Rantanen is a franchise player, and the Canes have the cap space to sign him for the amount of money he really deserves. It was the right decision for the Avs, it was the right decision for the Canes, it was the right decision for Rantanen's career, and it was the right decision for Necas.

  9. Biz needs to stop with his media guy bias. Trades and off ice shit doesnt make hockey exciting. The on ice product is the one and only thing that matters. Guy is starting to lose touch with reality with all his fame and money.

  10. Lol Hughes spoke out in guessing just after this interview with something no one's what's to hear from a captain (for the second time in his career) said I don't wanna be in Vancouver for a rebuild….. Not something a leader should really be saying imo guys are looking to you to calm the room down and take control not tuck your tail and run….. Personally as a Canucks fan I want boeser and Miller to stay get the world for Petey and Hughes they have that timid marner gen Z privilege attitude look at the playoffs numbers 2 goals from Hughes in the playoffs boeser got more in 1 game than he has in 30ish guys a great player but skill guys are becoming a dime a dozen where old school loyal guys are a dying breed keep Miller and Brock build the team around them and those bottom 6 that play tocc hockey. Hughes is also heavily over played and costs us when he's out there for 2-3 minutes whether that's his or coaches choice idk but seen him get burned multiple times after being out for 2-3 minutes what and pro player is doing out there that long is beyond me

  11. The boys are kinda short selling how much of a wagon this makes the Canes.. already buzzing since the trade. They are the clear favorites to me to come out of the East now barring injuries. And I’m a deranged Devils fan.

This also gives Colorado flexibility to add more depth, sign Makar to big dough, have Necas at a BARGOON, and retool for 5 more years of dominance. Great move all around

  12. 3 podcasts have gone by since Hellebuyck became the third fastest goalie in NHL HISTORY to 300 wins. Not a word has been spoken about it on the pod which is pretty wild. Could just be that I’m biased, but that seems like a pretty huge accomplishment that is worthy of being acknowledged.

  13. Biz not knowing who Petr Čech is, then Yands telling him that Čech, as a 42 year old retired soccer superstar, has picked up hockey and plays in a league that Biz once played lockout hockey in, killed me 😂

  14. Biz and whit refuse to talk about the flyers. this is the first time I’ve heard them even utter the name

  15. Kyle Davidson is hell bent on taking the crown from Bowman as worst GM in league history… also wouldn't be surprised Davidson offer him $14.5m
