Edit: I want to believe Mike, I really do. But when Tomasino sits and Imama plays less minutes than he sat in the box for, I just don't know what the thinking is.

This roster is bottom 10 team. They will not make playoffs. Dubas created a team that would be lottery team.

Nah they're out of it. It's not just 5pts back. It's 5pts back with more games played than everyone else and 7 teams in front of them. It'd be different if they hadn't lost 3 straight to non playoff teams. That's when my hope finally checked out.
I'd love for them to prove me wrong, but I'm not watching upcoming games with any sense of belief or expectation outside of wanting Sid to keep getting points.

This story is getting old. Management hasn't done anything to help this squad, offensively they are challenged still…….last night there were several breakdowns, where Ned saved their butts. I do agree DK, they have Sid, he is hearing all the noise of the trades and that they are done, and he'll go on a run but it won't be enough. I've seen the last stretch and he should have 3-4 assists a night that aren't getting finished. I totally expect a Crosby run like last year but he needs some help. As much as I cheered last night, it was for that game and not the delusions this team is making the playoffs. They are still playing for Sullivan, they still have Dubas making no moves…….and you need more than 87 to drive this team, and lastly, they were playing Utah.
They’re done, love to see sid scoring and happy but these points now are just meaningless in my opinion statistically its just so improbable for them to get back in there with how many teams are out in front and how many games played they have. The pens in the AHL excite me though, murashov and koivunen have bright futures
They are done. DONE-DONE. Don't confuse the flashes of brilliance of one of the greatest players to ever play the game, with that of a team that can actually compete in the post-season. A top four pick would help this franchise exponentially. Maybe even give us a stud power forward for Sid's line. That needs to be our focus. Get Rutger, Ville, Broz, and Ponamarev up here, and don't take Joel out of the net. WE NEED THIS. STOP THE INSANITY! It only hurts us longer term.

I understand the notion but how many times have we sat through this over the last few years? Theyre disinterested and unmotivated, then once the chatter starts they reel one or two off defiantly and suddenly their attitude changes. Enough. Its not encouraging, its rather embarrassing. I love the team always but man….how many times do we have to sit by and watch the whole charade?

When Sid scored the O.T goal, it sent me down a memory hole of blessings. I've lived to witness: Mario/Sid, the 70s Steelers, the 76' Panthers, Clemente/Stargell, Chamberlain/Jabbar, Magic/Bird, Dr.J/Jordan, Tiger, Earnhart/Gordon, Bjorn/McCenroe, King/Navrotolova/Serena ect. My sports bucket list is complete! Feeling blessed.

Not to stray from this positive episode today, but it's something I've wondered. Next season, Jarry will most likely be sent back down if Dubas can't find a taker. Do you think the Dubas would also send Graves down?
I'm not wishing for them to tank. I don't like seeing Sid NOT in the playoffs. That said, I believe drafting one of the top talent in this year's draft could pay immediate dividends if they're NHL-ready. I also look at the skeleton of this team next year: Sid, Geno, Rust, Rakell, Bunting, Letang and EK. Having potentially around $30M in free space when you send Jarry down maybe move Acciari? This team can make some serious noise with their youth and free agents. Not to recycle my statement from last week, but this gives Dubas a legit opportunity to bring in the RIGHT guys.

Ned stood tall at the net and was outstanding. Now that shot by Sid was so precise, just a split second that close. While the team as a whole hung in there It gives me hope. Thank you DK, Awesome !
Only 4 wins in January with 3 times they lost 3 in a row. Stick a fork in this season
DK I do not mean to say this team is nearly as talented as the back to back teams, but if I remember correctly, what helped propel those teams into contention at the beginning of that run, were the elevation of young hungry players that Sully brought with him from Wilkes-Barre. Why do the two choices have to be, stick with the roster we got and try to contend, or tear it down to bring these kids up? Wouldn’t it be a boon for them to experience a playoff push, and get as much ice time as possible with Sid, Geno, Rust and the rest? Exciting stretch ahead if they can get it together.
