Do net crashers have a higher chance of getting injured? Probably. Hit by slap shots, abused by defense, mangled in collisions… So yeah, the leafs are temporarily missing that which they are most likely to lose.

I'm kind of curious about why the leafs haven't been mentioned as potential suitors for Petersson/Miller. Obviously some big salary would have to go back, but it could be the big shakeup this team needs.

It’s kind of funny when u can predict the leafs game within the first 5 minutes into the game the way they play that knowingly 90% the leaf’s are going to lose …it’s beyond comprehension that leaf’s control the leafs organization by 68% n 32% management. That tells me that leaf players really are there for the money n not for the love of hockey . I’ll never will see Stanley in my lifetime sadly enough 😢

OK, lifelong Leafs Fan here. I still like this version of the Leafs to have the possibility of a run in the playoffs. Yes, we need Stolarz, Tavares, Knies and in general dudes to be healthy, but the Leafs should’ve won tonight. Hockey is an imperfect game; bounces tips, etc. not sure what Reilly is up to. Seems flat. Domi…shoot the puck. Steve, great entertainment and observations per usual.
I have been screaming THEY CANT SCORE from the hilltops for about 4 years now. While everyone was screaming blah blah DEFENSE blah blah, the problem was always obvious they could NEVER SCORE in a Game 7 – Now that problem is finally showing its ugly head in the regular season. Hopefully they stop worrying about the defense (which has been perfectly fine for years now, especially in the playoffs) and address the real issue. SCORING.
Truth is.. Leafs don’t have scoring chances if the big guns are cold, team needs to make trades badly
Berube is a bad coach. He won with pietro, orielly and a all time heater from a goalie and has done nothing else. He was my overcorrection nightmare hire the minute his name was floated. This is the least I’ve believed in this team. They could have had Evanson….uuuuugggghhhhhhhhhh

Time to end the Matthews on the penalty kill experiment. Not because he is not good, but not sure he has the engine for thins and it seems to be hurting his offence and we need him scoring goals.
Not that I'm blaming him. But Willy somehow gets 2 or 3 breakaways a game but I swear he doesnt score on them ever, again not blaming him but it just feels wild

Bérubé can’t control the amount of powder these guys do on a regular basis. I think Austin need to be moved.. maybe go collab on an album with Justin Bieber…. NHL heroes are not blasted in dark looking tattoos…..
Leafs are simply too thin at center. Nylander is forced to do everything by himself with Holmberg and Domi as his linemates with the exception of maybe 3-5 shifts in a game where those two string together some good plays by accident. They need a 3C that can plausibly fill in as 2C when there are injuries and another forward that actually goes to the net on the third line. Think Gourde or Granlund plus a Trent Frederic type.
Even then it doesn't really matter because the problem in the playoffs will remain the same: they can't score. They have no threats whatsoever from the blueline (as evidenced by being dead last in goals from defensemen). In the playoffs that allows their opponent to simply defend down low in the zone putting the leafs in a 3v5 down low where they are always outnumbered. Puck comes to the D at the point? That's fine, no need to challenge because there isn't a scoring threat. Teams don't adjust to their opponent like that in the regular season, but in the playoffs they will and their already meager scoring will dry up.
