If Hintz tripped Stone, it did not cause him to do what he did. Stone is dirty. Stone should be suspended for that hit. Then, to watch him laugh on the bench while he watched the replay just shows you how much of a dirty player Stone is.
When Buf didn’t score first I was like cool we might actually win this game.
I can’t believe it but Hall looks great as a Hurricane. Great forechecking work ethic, the kind of player that Rod loves to coach. Rantanen saved a goal on one end and got his first point on a fantastic heads up pass.
Boston, Montreal, Tampa, and NYR all losing in regulation is like Detroit won despite not playing a game. If only the Isles had lost to Colorado.
Those crazy Sabres!! Honestly..is this a reform school rather than an NHL team?! Awesome when they are going..followed by hangover stinkers..🎯🎱🧩🗾🥅🏒💫
Isles make no sense. The more injuires pile up the more they win. Of course they make this run every year after making it difficult on themselves.
As NHL fan at large this is quite the season! Lots of unpredictable outcomes and tonight a sampler. 🧩🥅🏒
I really wish TSN would stop with the Fanduel commercials. How are gambling ads legal??
Ive been hoping for Francis to make a move with Grubi since last season. He's not a bad goalie, but i think he needs a change. He doesn't look confident and neither do the boys when he's in net. Our defense could be better, but at the end of the day the goalie gets paid for a reason and he's got to perform better than that.
So uh…Boston. Do you want to talk about it?
Came here solely to see the Canes get the Tony the Tiger Magnet
ESPN was really happy the Islanders won.
I've been a diehard Bruins fan since age 8 in 1993 and this is the worst team I've ever seen. It's getting embarrassing. I have been rooting for any team that is playing them. The worse we get our asses kicked, the better. The Bruins ownership and management don't give a flying fuck about winning a cup. What they care about selling the arena every game and making a round or two in the playoffs because that's how they make the most money.
I'm just going to be honest here, my Avalanche lost me last night like the NFL lost me this season. How do you not have your games on TV? This streaming stuff is stupid, and it takes away from the people in their local communities around the franchises if they cannot watch their local teams play.
Take those streaming dollars sports leagues, when you lose fans and have to drop your salary cap just remember you flipped off the fans.
Not only did Heiskenen leave with knee injury, but so did Kaiden Guhle in Montreal. It was AWFUL looking. He was in so much pain. Just looked like he caught an edge on the ice, his left ankle turned inward and he twisted awkwardly to the ice. Even Pionk looked concerned for the guy. So tough to see.
Does it seem like there has been an increase in knee injuries this year? Maybe in the last few seasons? It seems a little crazy to me…the amount of these knee injuries across the league…Habs have been hit hard by them the last two seasons for sure. Would be interested to see the stats on this.
Kraken fan here. 1. Ron Francis is more sentimental than most. 2. Gru's contract and stats make him really hard to trade. 3. I blame the team's play in front of Gru for breaking his spirit.
So this is why Hellybuyck is SO important. A Jets slow start. At times it seems to take the Jets about a half a period to get those legs in gear. Helly stands on his head and keeps them in. Then with about 9 minutes left in the first, the game kicks into gear. Thankfully it’s not every game….but it sure is key when it is!! Loved how the boos stopped when Schiefele scored lol. Guess they finally realized it wasn’t gonna do any good. Also Laine was invisible in that game. He maybe had one good try and that was it. Didn’t give him a PP to try!! Anyway great way to start a road trip!!!
I don’t give Stone that much credit. Was he a little off balance? Yes. But he looked like he was going more for Miro knee than the puck by the end of the play.
Even if it was a complete accident, you don’t potentially injure someone like that and smile as you watch the replays on the bench.
Grubauer sucks.
He just sucks.
He does.
Credit to Tulsky for seeing something in Taylor Hall that nobody else did. This dude looks like he was born to play for the Canes. I don't think I've ever seen a new player come in mid-season and be so effective right away.
Dallas fans out in force over another teams captain when their captain is….. Jamie Benn XD
Islanders not going away 😂
I don't know why but every time "Lohrei" is mentioned I hear "Lodi" by CCR
I think the Rangers are done for the season. That loss to Colorado in the final seconds took something out of them. They needed to get at least one point there and maybe even eek it out in the OT. They have been bravely winning and just edging out teams and getting points over the last month to climb back up in the standings, but I think they were still very fragile. I felt some extremely disappointed energy at the end of the Colorado game. And now the Carolina loss feels like it is back to how it was over a month ago. It just feels like this is not going to even be a playoff season for them.
3 straight games scoring 5+ goals for the Ducks. Which is absolutely mind blowing for anyone that follows Anaheim.
Grubauer with an absolute stunner of a save on Zegras' one-timer bid. A losing effort for the Kraken, but still that save was ridiculous. Also, an awesome 20 second sequence in OT in Vegas. Vegas/Dallas games are fantastic. I hope we get another playoff series between those two in the spring.
Everytime I see Gru is starting I immediately plug that in as a loss. If he is here for another start Kraken ownership should fire Francis. This is year 4 of bottom of the league goaltending from Gru. Only good run he had was the 22/23 playoffs and we only made the playoffs that year because Jones went on a run mid season when Gru didn’t play and piled up goals.
Ducks scoring has finally caught on. Time to make a push for that wildcard spot.
As a Sens fan, last night couldn’t have been better.
Now we have to respond with a win against Washington, which I know Ottawa is capable of.
I knew Vegas was going to lose when the commentators wouldn't shut up about Dallas having never won after trailing after 2.
The capitals are so good
Great jersey, I need to do that to my Eichel jersey
Hasek will turn 60 soon. I still not get why HockeyGuy consider Hasek worse than Brodeur.. I made 70 saves shutdown evening..
I found statis between Brodeur and Hasek matches head to head..
Wins are almosst tied. In terms of individual performance during these games, Hašek had a save percentage of .933 and a goals-against average (GAA) of 2.22, whereas Brodeur recorded a save percentage of .896 and a GAA of 2.62. => 93.3%(Hasek) – 89.6%
I dont even need to add that Buffalo had usually much worse roster than Devils.
Now Hasek vs Roy:
Dominik Hašek:
Goals Against Average (GAA): 1.73
Save Percentage: .938
Shutouts: 6
Patrick Roy:
Goals Against Average (GAA): 2.34
Save Percentage: .915
Shutouts: 1
+ Hasek won over Roy in Nagano.
He is numbers guy, but there is some Canadian stubbornness behind Roy myth..
Taylor Hall might be the real steal of the trade for CAR. Rantanen is 2 games in, he'll figure it out…
But Hall? He looks like he's played here for years. Him KK and Svech are E-LEC-TRIC
Shannon, Stone after being tripped lunged towards Miro that’s on Stone. It was not intentional but it was very stupid by him
Surprisingly, the last time the Bruins allowed 2 hat tricks in a game was during the Dead Puck Era. Éric Dazé and Steve Sullivan did it March 9, 2003, in an 8-5 loss in Chicago.
As a Rangers fan, I’m grateful Carolina came into MSG and wiped the floor with them. It was the slap of reality that the media (not the fans) needed who was trying to sell that the Rangers were shaking off their funk in 2025. You NEED talent to win a Stanley Cup. Right now, Panarin and Zibanejad should be ashamed for their lack of hustle on turnovers. At the end of the day, this Rangers team never addressed the following:
1. Never fixed the first line. Since trading Buch, that line with Mika & Kreider has never worked.
2. Can’t win without a physical defense: hate Trouba all you want but teams had trepidation from his hits. Lindgren sacrificed his body, will never be the same again. Miller, Fox….grew light on D.
3. No physicality. No forechecking.
This team is done. Good luck fixing the team after giving Igor that giant contract.
Stone could have avoided that. I must have rewatched that 100 times. You can clearly see he barely got hit by Roopes stick on his skate. He chooses to go down to try and draw the penalty and then leans forward and takes advantage of his position to take out Miro. 100 percent intentional and he got away with it because people believe he would not do that on purpose. It was on purpose and the guy is a POS.
I saw the Sabres score and said, hey they did that at home. those fans needed one of those games. Then I put myself in the mindset of a Sabres fan, where the hell is that every other night? Back to everyone being ranked 15 on the power rankings.
Does anyone know if THG or the Entertainment guys did a review of the NHL Faceoff series? Just finally watched it a few nights ago. My biggest take away is, McDavid needs to hit the gym. Lower body looks correct upper body looks extremely weak. Compared to every other player in the NHL.
Well, you predicted that one (Ron moving Gru). Seattle fan. It's been hard to watch. The defense in front of Gru is terrible, but he's also letting in soft ones. Seattle needs to make some serious moves.
3 and 5 yerstday 424 and 344 and 344 and 39 record in the season
The ducks just need to keep pushing to improve with each game, they should'nt have much of a problem for awhile by the looks of their schedule but once they run into the tougher teams again I hope they step up a bit more.
Hi Shannon. I was hoping that you could do a video on the success of the Washington Capitals. I think one player in particular needs to be talked about. That player is Protas. Yes people have talked about him taking a step up this year but I don't think people realize how good he has really been. He has been fantastic at both ends of the ice. By far the most consistent forward on the team. Great 5 on 5 and great on the pk. He isn't getting much time on the pp but I think he should. He has earned it.
I don’t think I’ve ever disagreed really with your assessments, but to agree that stone was tripped and that’s why he went into Miro’s knee, is absurd. He may have had his skate “touched” but he was already moving forward to lunge when the skate was tapped. He knew what he was doing, and he knew he had an “out”. Bean should’ve broken his stick over his head again.
