  1. Call me overly optimistic but I think Murray will end up being great with the Leafs. He'll be motivated to prove people wrong and then picking up Samsonov to share the duties will turn out to be a real win.

  2. Im soooooo Confused at the Mikheyev Signing, the Canucks are gunna have some buyers remorse real quickly when they start hitting that cap roofagain after their cap dumps theyre going to do.
You get guyslike Kubalik- Had just as many points , has had a 30 goal season, and hes getting 2.5M?? WTF?
Mason Marchment – 47 pts in 54 GP Hes only getting 4.5M.
Max freakin Domi had more points then Mikheyev last season and he got bounced around and hes only getting 3M.
Like wtf were the Vancouver Canucks thinking. This guy has got a carrer high of 32pts. you cant say well he missed some games… and so that doesnt mean he stays on pace for this he could very easily have went on a 20 game pointless streak if he had to play all 82.
Thats another thing this guy has yet to even play a full 82 game season yet.
The canucks are dumbies. This is worse then the Matt Murray deal imo. just as bad as the Clarkson contract lol.

  3. Dubas groupies love everything he does. It really sucks being a leaf fan I’m going to be cheering for the leafs to miss the playoffs just so we can get Rid of this garbage Gm

  4. I dont think it was the money aspect at all as to why they didnt sign Campbell. I personally think it was the term. Toronto wanted him down in the 2-3 year , 3.5-4M per . I think theres a trend going onhere. I think Dubas has been given a deadline with this core and has been told to keep the books clear for an overhaul if his vision doesnt come to fruition so the next GM isnt working with long term contracts. 2 years in when Matthews expires . Nylander Expires, the year after Tavares and Marner, So thats why they would and probably offered him that third year. But they want nothing on the books so this team can be overhauled quickly and cheaply if this core doesnt get it done.

  5. Does this make you feel a little better Andrew? lol You seemed really pe'od when they signed Murray without retaining more than 25%.. 😛

  6. This tandem does not makes sense. Specially to save money.

Tandem of Murray and Samsonov 6.48.

If the Leafs signed KC at 5m. And Theb signed Samsonov at 1.8. That’s 6.9m. Around 32k difference.

Is 32k really a big savings in the NHL? I would have fathered paid the extra 32k to keep JC and sign JC to a decent contract. Step backwards just to save 32lish.

  7. Samsonov signing was one of the goalies I expected, Murray though….HUGE gamble and I would have thought with that price, dumbass Dubas would have put in at the least 10% effort in trading for Husso whom I think would have fit very well with the Leafs. I just hope this is the positive breakout for Samsonov, despite having a shitty tandem with Matt Murray of all goaltenders…. time will tell I guess.

  8. I understand that he is trying to keep as much cap available for Matthews ins two years so he can’t have long term deal at high cap… the cap didnt go much up and is screwing leafs up….

  9. I will miss Mikheyev on that 3rd line, Leafs are getting slower each year. The goalie tandem looks solid, hope they keep Kaligren as the 3rd for insurance, just in case of injury. Dubi has to make a couple of trades Muzzin for sure and maybe Kerfoot.

  10. I like Soup, particularly his attitude. However, I don't think he was worth 5 mil over 5 years, he just hasn't proven himself yet. I wish him well in Edmonton and hopefully he plays up to that salary. I do like the Samsonov pickup. Still not sure on Murray, we'll have to see how that turns out. I wish Dubas had pushed Ottawa to retain 50% of his salary, it would have been more palatable.

  11. I can see them keeping Kerf and tossing Hall which will give them more cash. They could sure use a solid defenseman and maybe Strome. There must be someone on the Marlies ready to step up. If there isn't that's a huge failure on Dubas part for me.

  12. They need John Tavares' contract off the books. He is worth about 7 million and not a penny more. In 3 years he will be a 4 million dollar player

  13. I believe Murray when it comes to the playoffs is where he will be able to play his best. He has a different style of goaltending. More of the stand up and let's the puck hit him, rather than being lower and flopping side to side reacting to where the puck is shot. He is better saving the long shots from the point where Campbell was weak. Which helps the Leafs defense men locate who to cover.

  14. The Leafs are the worst at scouting and drafting goalies. The last time the Leafs drafted and developed a goalie was Felix Potvin to be the number one.

  15. The tsn analysts ranked the leafs 6th out of all 7 Canadian teams when it comes to goaltending tandems… Only reason they didn't put leafs 7th is because no one knows of Carey Price is healthy enough. Can bring all the depth forward 750 k-1 m forwards you want but they still need to get Sandin & Engvall locked up and they may have to move Kerfoot or Holl to create some extra cap space to get it done. They really need Nick Robertson to hit next year and play somewhere consistantly in the middle 6 and he must produce… I feel like they are leaving alot of things up to risk with this group this year. Ottawa & Detroit has definately entered the conversation of potentially making the playoffs with all the significant moves they have made i don't think Leafs & Bruins can just take the Atlantic for granted anymore and just worry about Florida and Tampa. Not to mention Hurricanes, Caps, Rangers & Penguins are still right there. The east is going to be a dogfight all yesr long especially the wildcard spots
