  1. From trade rumor that Islanders are trying to move Scott Mayfield soon so keep an eye on Islanders and Predators and Blues something coming

  2. im sick of players holding teams hostage stop giving no move clauses out, no trade is fine but there has to be atleast 10 teams thier willing to go to, as for Marner i dont care about his regular season stats. it's game 4 thru 7 is what i care about and Marner never shows up for those games i say it's time to break up the core 4 and let him walk, he wants too much money and it will only handcuff the Leafs again, enough is enough. 9 years with only 1 play off win is totaly unaceptable i say this as a 47 year fan.stop with the stupidity.

  3. The sooner they let Mitch walk the better chance they will have for a cup Mitch is only for the regular season.

  4. It's very unlikely the Leafs will make the conference final – as they are a poorly built team, with too much money on the wings, specifically Marner that cannot perform up to his salary when the game changes in front of both nets; gets much tighter, grittier, more competitive after the first few games in the series and gets even tougher as the rounds move on. Baring a 'really big' trade at center where Leafs yet again give up valuable futures for rentals, because they are trying to fill holes being built the wrong way, I don't see a long playoff run. You can't have $11M just disappear when the games get tough and expect to compete against other teams without that problem, not in a salary cap era. Marner and Shanahan will both be gone this offseason. They both should of been gone a few seasons ago, but here we yet AGAIN – shows lessons were still not learned, after ALL these years. Anyone with half a brain cell could of told you that 3-5 years ago it's not going to work. They've wasted all those years and valuable futures trying to fill holes on a losing model against teams built the right way. Shanahan hired the WRONG GM and shared in the WRONG model. 1 round in 8 years….is a joke.

  5. From trade rumor today that leafs to aquire Versatility Forward LW/RW Alexey Toropchenko for F Pontus Holmberg and pick or prospect if true or not we will see?

  6. Marner could be one of the most loved Leaf players ever if he wasn't so fucking greedy.
After already becoming a millionaire you have to ask yourself whats more important a few more millions or the Stanley Cup 🤷

  7. No player on TOR with a NMC will leave, they know TOR pays more then all other teams and all they want is money!

  8. And so you and others who think like you would've traded Yzerman? Well just relax on his going anywhere. Stop this incessant banter. After his career, he'll end up with the most points in Leafs history, so just STOP!

  9. Mikko wanted $14 million as goes the Leon contract. Remember they share the same agent. Avalanche weren’t going to pay $14 million. So the Avs made certain cost moves for themselves. That’s the NHL business side nowadays!!

  10. They certainly can’t let him walk for nothing, playoff success or not this post season. They need to sign him without a full no move. Limited no trade is fine, but they definitely need to sign him.

  11. Marner is a high calibre all purpose player. Offense, defense, pp,pk, the guy plays everywhere.
Moments!!! Moments don’t win playoff a series. Defense does. Nylander may score a lot but the opposition scores more from all his turnovers. Fact. Last year everyone says he played so well in the playoffs. Fact is he was a -4 player. For as much as he did offensively, the opposition scored more.
With the Leafs focusing on defence this year they should trade Nylander.

  12. This is going to be a very interesting next few months for the team, with or without Mitch. I hold a firm opinion that the best we saw him look was when he was manning his own line. I doubt we'll see it again unless it's a necessity due to injury but I genuinely think it's the only way to get him going the way that we need him to for the post season

  13. Nobody know the particulars of the Rantanen negotiation except for the people involved. If he was willing to take a discount, he would have been signed. Toronto should concentrate on having enough money for McMann, Knies, Stolarz, Paciorety etc Before they sign Marner.

  14. Mikko rantenen wanted more money than nate mackinion! They offered him 11.5 and he said no. Mikko also had 9 teams on his nmc, so its diffent than marners nmc. As for playoffs is mitch good no… but i cant think of any matthews games 5-7 moments of greatnees either, yet we still signed him. Leafs have John tavares to who could take a paycut to stay. Unless you find 2-3 players that can score if marner and John walk it will be another Kessel situation, where leafs struggle just as bad or worse might not even make playoffs. This is because the core 4 is so relied on, that unless you can get some depth scoring if William slumps or auston is out scoring will slow. Bottom of the line is if leafs do this, they need to be very cautious which may not happen. If they just don't find players that can somewhat make up for John and mitch scoring. youll end up wasting another 9 years anyway, and it comes down to being in the same situation. leafs are now where they are out 1st round, or worse don't make playoffs.

  15. I agree with your opinion and ive been saying the same thing since the pre-season… if were out in Round 1 or 2… offer Marner $12M and if he walks… he walks. If Marner leads us to a Conference Final… pay the man.
