The Sabres are reported to be one of the teams that are in on trading for Elias Pettersson, and they were singled out by Elliotte Friedman. Does that mean the Sabres are the favorites to land the trade?

Sabres are not favourites for Pettersson.
Here is my thing if Byram is not going to sign a contract with the Sabres then I am not willing to put Power in the deal.
Now if Byram does sign a long term deal with the team. Then I would be willing to put Power in the deal, Cozens would also be in the deal and then maybe another Prospect.
I would then ask for both Pettersson's in the deal because Power added to the deal is a way over payment and while yes the Defensemen Elisa Pettersson is 1 of the Canucks top Defensive prospects. They also need to trade a D if they are getting a D in the trade. Thing is Pettersson the D is only really going to be a bottom pair D from everything that is out there. Just a good stay at home defensive defensemen.
They can have Power and Cozens for Pettersson and a mid-lvl pick.

If Byram is willing to resign, swap him for Power. If Byram is not willing to resign, trade him. Do not trade Benson under any circumstance.

Before you trade Power you better resign Byram longterm and hopefully they can also draft Matthew Schaeffer from Erie of the OHL in this June's draft.Yes, Pettersson might want to come to Buffalo since he is good friends with Dahlin but I have ZERO interest in him as Im not a fan of paying him $11 million a year.

Canucks are three points out of a playoff spot. Why would they make any deal with the Sabres? What is Cozens going to bring during a playoff push?

1st Sabres lot of cap space. 2nd Powers & Cozens are high first round picks so the organization needs to enhance their development. 3rd Benson needs AHL seasoning as does Levi. And stay the course add veteran leadership, a highly skilled forward & dont shy away from giving up draft choices.

Elias Patterson is not going to make the Sabers better they need defense they need some Wingers that are defensively responsible and a Top Line right-handed defenseman.

ADAMS should not be allowed to make any moves this year , the season is over . After the season when ADAMS and RUFF are both gone , the new regime can make the appropriate moves .

I'm not going to get excited…Adams is always a few steps behind. It's time to reshape the team without another total rebuild but he loves all his players that he keeps losing with.
