  1. Can the fans fire CMac??? I’ll give him up to the trade deadline, but I think his tenure has been a disaster- starting with Kadri.

  2. Watch & hope for JT Miller. Would reenergize the Avs & their fans. Guy comes to play every night & is physically dominating. Great upgrade vs Rantanen. A leader, not a "passenger."

  3. And you folks don't think Joe Sakic wasn't directly involved in a trade of this magnitude?!! This change was MANDATORY for COL. NOT paying Rantanen Draisaitl money in this lifetime & couldn't let the guy go as a UFA & get bupkus.

  4. Who among us believes that frugal CAR will be willing to pay Mikko $14 mil per season over 8 years?! Take less or proceed to UFA, "Moose."

  5. Living in FL, I watch the Lightning frequently & have been very impressed watching Martin Necas several times each season since he broke into the NHL several years ago. He has great speed & is a dangerous player — excellent acquisition for Avs & affordable for now. A former DEN resident (24 years) & a HUGE Avs fan here.

  6. The fact that he got traded is disappointing, but the return just doesn't seem to be there…which is the real troubling part of this trade.

  7. Lots of accountability on players so far this season, when is Ray Bennett going to be held accountable for the brutal power play the last 2.5 months?

  8. Its not about losing a great player but every player in that locker room and the whole franchise will miss him every day going thru gameday, practices etc realising hes not there anymore. it affects mentally to you even though its cool to say that theyre pros… the pros are humans after all not robots. nothing wrong with Necas but if you lose your best friend, even if you're getting Gretzky back that trade, he wouldnt replace Mikko, he will be missed

  9. GM Out! That's all… Avs will lose Makar for sure as well if not hit with higher salary than McKinnon. If the cap goes up so does the salaries. McKinnon signed the best deal on that year he signed. That is just the wrong bar this year… period!!

  10. Right there Av's fans is your toxic cancerous problem, Chris MacFarland – this guy is a complete dumpster fire, ruined a core group of players, and wasted so many players top years. The fact he said, "it won't be an issue" in the locker room is a person that is completely out of touch with the players. There were other ways to do this and it didn't need to be done now. Toxic cancerous wart on the team, Chris MacFarland

  11. Sidney Crosby is not going anywhere people. If he wanted out he would have left over the summer.

  12. Just throwing this out there……
Isnt Landeskog skating for the last month or so ?
REMBER fans, the Cap has only gone up $2 mil since he got hurt, and if hes close to coming back its going to take a At the vety least a month to get in gane shape and ready for the Playoffs.
IT WAS A CAP DUMP TO CLEAR SPACE FOR THEIR CAPT. RETURN

    HELLO FROM NY

  13. I’m a fan of both teams. I live in N.C. so I like the canes but was born and raised as an Avs fan. Carolina has gone “all in” before like last year with Guentzel. In the offseason he walks to Tampa. I love Mikko and was stunned just as everyone else is, but the big wigs have a plan and can think years in advance. I trust them.

  14. Dallas fan here. I'd be very concerned as an Avs fan. Rantanan was an offenive beast for the Avs. Physicality with elite scoring and passing. No matter how you spin this, the canes won this trade. Necas is good, but Rantanen is feared across the league. I hope landeskog and the russian snow blower can hold up the weight.

  15. I feel like CMac is trying to moneyball the Avs with how he is always talking about “the aggregate” and I just think he’s galaxy braining this a bit too much

  16. You know it obviously sucks, but I appreciate CO management had the balls to fix a tough problem quickly. I knew we ain't been the same at all since 2022. I think we needed a retool because the team just functions differently than it had. Landeskog MAY come back, but there's no way of knowing fs. If Rants went for full value in the off season, we totally would've been cap strapped to Mack, Rants, and Makar. At least Necas is younger, cab play wing, and probably isn't looking for 14mill anytime soon.

  17. The avs problem will stay the same. Their Defense. Anyone thinking losses coming after this trade are due to mikko being gone is wrong. Its the avs awful defense

  18. Why not keep Moose for the season give it one last cup run with him and then see if we can get a deal done. Sure you risk losing him for nothing if he walks but maybe you win a 2nd cup and don’t risk throwing this season away.

  19. This is a league with a cap that is for the most part is constantly growing. Thus its disingenuous to suggest that since Mackinnon is the best player that he should (for the entire duration of his deal) be making the most on the team. Teams will use this as a strategy to get players to take less than market value. Agents are wise to this attempted market manipulation.

  20. Mikko to Finnish media outlet Ilta-Sanomat:

"The trade came as a huge surprise to me – I didn't see it coming at all. For the first time, I've now experienced just how ruthless the NHL business can be. I don't want to talk exact numbers, but I was willing to take a significant cut below my market value. That's why this trade was such a shock to me."
    💔

  21. Moose not willing to bend on salary makes me wonder if he doesn’t think the avs are cup contenders. Then again, the bank that landy pulled in is what put the avs in this position…
