  1. JT Miller is SCREAMING to go to the Flyers. Flyers get a Center, Michkov and grow with him and Torts can get hi Defense back in line. Trade Couturier for Miller and each team trade a pick and both teams would be good. Make Miller the Alt Cap to show trust in him and that he has a home and Couts will improve the Nucks defense

  2. The issues in Vancouver start at management and then flow downhill right down to the bench and then the locker room. It doesn't matter what's going on with Miller and Pettersson. The fact the issue is all over the news is a complete failure in containment. The management of Vancouver Canucks are responsible for maintaining open communications with both players regardless of locker room dramas. Every NHL locker room experiences challenges. The coaching staff can help but they are not there to primarily baby sit human nature when things go right-off the rails. We're humans and I don't know any that are perfect. Players make mistakes. Teams lose sight of ways to keep players focused and engaged with the tasks at hand and each game. Each game one at a time.

When players start complaining and team management can't get ahead of the issues that's a disaster. Maybe… way back when it was Olde Tyme hockey a player might do something really stupid; like ruin another player's marriage. The team would square off with a dozen cases of beer; drink, then take turns dragging the players having issues out into a Winter Wonderland to deal with the issue. The team would take action as a group with the blessing of management and the coaching staff. The team might take turns throwing the two players into a snowbank or two. In warmer climates a rented pool at a hotel might work. The next game might be a write off because the team is suffering from a two day shared hang over and minor frost bite. A couple of black eyes and a few bruises wasn't unusual. Sometimes that worked. Too often it seems player agents are running to the media now to spill every little drip their clients leak to them regarding teams. Now there isn't a shortage of hockey pundits who can be used to manipulate teams and encourage drama. Social Media and the Internet are amazing when it comes to that purpose and use. The NHL players association should work with the NHL to stop this nonsense. Will it? Who knows? Probably not.

These agent-player leaks can do catastrophic damage to NHL franchises. Every year it seems we now experience a half dozen, or more, critical rumors that have players going left-right and every which way. As a fan. A rumour or two might be exciting. A little bit of spice. Then there are the situations where it's a media show where interference might be involved. Agents tease teams and teams tease back because if they can cheat and get away with it… the agents can win bigger paychecks for themselves first and then their clients. Hungry teams can land key disgruntled elements that can improve their chances to win; at a cheaper price if they are lucky. Agents start trying to manage more than just one of their clients; they start trying to manage teams on behalf of everyone they represent. I'm told this works. It's not working well for fans in Vancouver. The Canucks are looking like their ship is sinking this year. So fewer fans are going to pay to see them play. That negatively effects all the NHL teams the Canucks will play for the rest of the season. Who wants to watch that soap opera on ice at hundreds of dollars per ticket? I don't want to think about parking, food, and traffic. Those are all expensive things to pay for to watch a soap opera on ice.

If we really want to watch ridiculous drama, on ice, we can always watch Slap Shot. Or some silly Disney movie that mutates into an NHL expansion team. Don't worry Vancouver you're not alone. The Leafs are also enjoying drama challenges. That show is just being better contained and managed by all the adults, and adult wannabees trying to behave, in the organization at the moment.

  3. I say keep them both.. see how it plays out over playoffs if they get there and make the decision at the end of the year.. its a loose loose situation to trade either i think, probably get lowballed on either trade they get offered cause of said drama happening..

  4. Can’t keep him now

    Can’t keep Pettey either

Keep Petterson = dudes that like Miller like you angry

Keep Miller = dudes that like Pettey get angry

Keep Hughes, Boeser, Demko the only stars with character and class worth adding to

Miller is a loud mouth hypocrite

Petterson is a soft sarcastic diva

Hell Rantanen got traded and he’s better than both of them

    If you can’t get

    2 x 25-28 year old good centres a #1 & #2

    1 x 25-28 year olds top 4 D + D prospect

Minimum 1 solid top 6 winger 24-28 yrs old

If you can’t get that kind of a return For trading both Miller & Petterson, or more than that even then you’re not a good GM

It’s not working forget about this year

Fuck Aqualini and his minimum 2 home playoff games

Rebuild this club make it a team again where the stars are team first guys

  5. I think Dallas would be a great fit fir JT. They're in their cup window, have LTIR money to spend, have defense good enough to mask his flaws, and could really use his firepower.

  6. Not one mention of JT’s full NM clause, eh? Kind of important, don’t you think? And that that rumour has it that he will only waive for NYR?
What about Petty’s NM clause- that doesn’t kick in till July 01, 2025. So, he has absolutely no trade protection right now. Also, kinda important, no?

  7. The Rangers moved on from JT Miller when they traded McDonough to the Lightning…one might wonder why. He signed a 5 year deal with Tampa and they traded him a year into that contrat…one might wonder why. He then has a career year in Vancouver and signs a 7 year deal, and now they are trying to trade him barely a year into extending him. maybe he's the problem? For the rangers to try and get JT Miller back in nuts to me. I am a lifelong Rangers fan and looking at the proposed trade that fell through has me tearing my hair out. We ruin more prospects than we develop and trading someone like Chytil and draft picks for a drama queen like JT Miller who's on the wrong side of 30 and has a large AAV until 2030 while we are trying to part ways with Mika Zibanijad. And JT Miller isn't a superstar. He's good when he's great, but when things are going south? yikes.

  8. Teams are smart to lowball the Canucks because they want to move this player. But teams are dumb to lowball the Canucks because come playoffs you do not want to play against this player.

  9. there is no locker room issue but the media is making a mess of this. Just let it go . if they get traded then so be it. Right now all this internal stuff is even causing issues for a trade.

  10. star, sure. superstar? nah. there are only a handful of superstars in any league. many stars. he's not even close to superstar status. Hughes is the sole SS on the Canucks.

  11. No offensive production out of the D besides Hughes. I don't agree with this vlogger and I can see Miller retiring as a Canuck.
Trade the frail Swede that is not living up to his contract nor his responsibilities.

  12. Lol bro. Why did he take a one month leave from the team? Look at his body language. Dude has checked out. He's not a leader.

  13. If anyone can go, Petey can go; BUT they F'ed tthemselves with a HORRIBLE contract signing (WHERE did that come from… and more importantly: WHYYYYYYYYY?!?!?!?) Now they'll have terrible trouble trading him. BOTH players need to GROW UP already!

  14. Of course we don't really know what's going on in the locker room well that's what we'd like to know that's what you should be able to find out and share with us otherwise it's just a bunch of drivvl, nothing new just repeating the same old same old that everyone's been saying for 2 years with no insight whatsoever extremely disappointing not a chance in hell, I would subscribe to this and waste more of my time learning absolutely nothing

  15. Miller top 10 in scoring the last 4 years, in the league. Always matches up against top lines and is awesome on faceoffs. Also a beast in the playoffs. No wonder Drury has a hard on for him.

  16. Yes there is a rift and hopefully Miller gets traded. This is great news for the Oilers! Even if the Canucks don't trade Miller all season, this drama between its good players is going to help the Canucks miss the playoffs. I am so happy for the Canucks! Failure is the story of this sad, sorry franchise.

  17. The Canucks should have won the Cup in 2011, but it wasn't meant to be. The Canucks kind of shot themselves in the foot beginning in that first round. Up 3-0 against Chicago, they choked away their series lead, only to expend every last ounce of energy to beat them in OT in Game 7. That first round series should have been over in 4 or 5 games for the Canucks. In the 2nd round, the Canucks faced the tame Nashville Predators. It was a pretty uneventful 2nd round series with Kesler turning into a beast, but again….somehow….it took the Canucks 6 long games to beat the Predators. In the third round series, the Canucks dispatched the Sharks in 5 games, which was good as it gave them sometime to rest before the Stanley Cup finals. Still, the fact that rounds 1 and 2 took longer than they should came back to bite the Canucks in the end. Also, Luongo had a bad habit of allowing at least one soft goal almost every game in the playoffs. This penchant for soft goals contributed to the first two rounds going longer than they should have, but I digress….. The Canucks would draw the lowly Boston Bruins in the finals. The Canucks were heavy favorites as the top offensive and defensive team in the regular season. They also had the best powerplay and penalty killing in the NHL that year. The Canucks won the first two games at home by narrow 1 goal margins. Then they got smoked 12-1 in two games in Boston….series tied 2-2. They won game 5 in 1-0 nail biter in which Luongo played great. Then came Game 6 in Boston, and the Canucks got throttled again 5-2. They returned home to lose Game 7, 4-0……..very disappointing loss. The sad thing was that even though the series went 7 games, it really wasn't that close at all. In the seven game series, the Bruins outscored the Canucks 23-8. Although I wasn't a Canucks fan, my father didn't eat for a week as he is a Canucks fan. As a neutral observer of the Stanley Cup Finals, my assessment is that the Canucks got shafted. The Bruins took many many liberties on my father's beloved Canucks and the refs basically put their whistles in their pockets and refused to call a boatload of penalties against the Boston Bruins. It sure looked to me that the finals were fixed….how else could an inferior Bruins team win against the juggernaut that was the Canucks that year? That Canucks team of 2011 played the right way…immensely talented and a joy to watch.

Fast forward to 2025, these Canucks aren't even close!!!! Enough said.

  18. I think it's funny that everyone keeps criticizing the defense and saying it was better last year. We lost Ian Cole ( who everyone seemed to hate) and Zadorov who is doing nothing in Boston. That's it. 2 players. The biggest problem has been goaltending and lack of offense which is in large part due to injuries. EVERY single core player has missed games this year do to injury. Demko and Silovs have been horrible and have had AHL numbers in the games they started. Yeah we could get a couple of better d-men, but who do you get? Hedman? Makar? Every offensive player's numbers have dropped and that's a larger problem then defense. You can't win if you don't score.

  19. This Canucks' team has this season had so many issues, with:
    – not great goaltending other than from Kevin Lankinen
    – the blueline
    – a severe lack of secondary scoring

  20. this is a little bit outdated already – there have been teams (or at least 1 serious inquiring team) like buffalo asking about petey…& injuries to hronek/demko – that's over (they're back, but not very good), it's lankinen's starting job now (or should be, for rest of the season

  21. Ive seen Miller criticize his fellow teammates during games on multiple occasions.
He is toxic to the energy of the team.

  22. Nucks issues lie deeper.
The injury to Hronek made the D look really thin. It asked to much out of an aging Myers and Soucy.
Desharnais regressed after his good season for EDM last year, and Forbort isn`t much better.
While Hughes and Hronek are a formidable 1st pair, Hronek has only played half their games.
Myers, Soucy, Desharnais and Forbort might be big bodies, but all of them have negative possession metrics and look like as if they can`t do much with the puck.

Suter had an excellent last year, not so much this year. Miller and Pettersson, i think it`s BS. They play in different lines.
Pettersson has only 30 pts in 42 games, that`s just not enough for a 11,6m earning top center.
Trading Miller in a bit of a down year, just the 2nd year after they singed him to an heavy 7 year long 56m contract will not give you much return.
