  1. normal victim-blaming by casuals in the comments. par for the course these days when every schmohawk wants to be "edgy"

  2. If your a hockey player you should never make that hit period. Tired of seeing these videos… Until they suspend these guys for half a season, and dock their pay,i don't think they will stop. If you you see the numbers….you don't hit some…its that simple…. stoping or turning has nothing really to do with it. Basically it just tells me you can't make a legal check because if someone sees you coming they are either going to move or counter check you and make you look foolish. In the old days the fear of getting your ass kicked and just respect for the other players safety keeped guys from making that hit. It's just not there anymore.

  3. Does he stop a bit? Yeah. Was the hit still dangerous and stupid? Absolutely. Thats the kind of situation where you dont try to shove the dude cus you could still see numbers pretty much the whole way, regardless if he turns or not

  4. This is how games get out of control. Calgary will start putting players heads into the boards if it's a concussion for a boarding penalty.

  5. Foolish announcers saying dumb things makes it so that casual viewers and newer fans have ZERO CLUE about how this should be called. Did he turn? No!

His hips did not move! Did his shoulder dip? Yes. It did. But that does not mean he turned. He did not change his skating path!

Him stopping short makes no difference either. That's ridiculous.

This was every bit a five minute major!

  6. Lots of people are blind or just Flames fans.
He clearly starts to go around behind the net and towards the right corner…..around the net is where he decides its a good idea to come to a complete STOP and attempt to head the other way towards the ref….
Could give a fuck about either of these teams Im a Red Wings fan…..moron turned into it plan and simple.

  7. A curious Q for all those that are clear that this hit was dirty. What was lauko supposed to do here? Seriously. Bahl knew he was there, both had a good head of steam, and Bahl stops 6 feet from the boards. Could Lauko have avoided the hit completely? I know he didn't have to hit him square on the numbers, but it seems the hit was gonna happen one way or another.

  8. WTF has happened to the Wild. The team used to be looking great and now we have crappy play, way too many penalties, terrible goal tending and just bad play.

  9. Not a hit you should go for. 4 out of 5 times it's gonna land you in the box, and that's not worth the gamble in my estimation.

  10. if you think this hit has any intent to injure behind it, pause the video at 1:59 and tell me what direction you think that player is going be skating.
then remind yourself this is the fastest game on earth and watching a slow motion replay of something like this isn't entirely indicative of the kind of split second decision making that has to be made in hockey.

  11. This was a good clean hit. Bahl looked back saw Lauko coming and instead of moving forward and just absorbing the hit he came to a complete stop creating the “bad” hit.
