Jarry actually kept them in the game in that first period. If not for him,the Pens could've lost 6-1. Still they're a bad team and I don't expect the losing to stop. All I ask is that they play hard and look like they actually give a damn.
It's a hockey bell curve. When you are peewees you have total lack of awareness of not passing or making moves in front of your own net and not in the gray zone (the few feet before and after the blue lines), then in midget/junior/pro you have attention to detail and don't do high danger plays like passing or making moves in front of your own net and in the gray zone,…then when you are an aging 'not as good as you used to be' star you are back to total lack of awareness of not passing or making moves in front of your own net and not in the gray zone…thinking you can rely on the fleeing talent that is now overtaken by those pros who are focused on detail and hard work.
Coreyās fight sparked nothing. They did nothing afrer he went to the box for 2 min. A phantom joke penalty call helped them. Crosby was again a no show in this Fight was all he did. He needs to be better.
They didn't hear him after the game before this one. They didn't change a thing after "physical practices" this week. He has lost the team. Any other team would have a new coach next week. If we get smoked by Utah I bet that becomes the reality.
Great players and performances make coaches look like geniuses, allowing good coaches like Sullivan opportunities to make genius moves. Now that this core is no longer great, Sullivan looks like a bum. Truth is he doesnāt have the horses to win anymore. The players know it too, and it shows. Time for Dubas and ownership to be honest and start selling hope, though they are trappedā¦canāt really tank with the no trade clauses for players who are not the future.
This just in, Malkin and Karlsson have to be traded. Malkin is half his former self. Karlsson has be awful since playing for the Pens. Jarry should not play again. This team is dead. Play Blum or Ned
When EK65 becomes the F1 before the 2nd goal, and instead of looking for separation from the Jets defender thinks he could beat him on the outside just to be pushed aside making a rather lucky connection with Crosby and then thinks he could glide back towards his own goal, goalies are being hung out to dry!
It took EK65 over 10 seconds (!!) to glide back to his own goal where Jary just made the first save merely to see the Jets #7 put in his OWN rebound completely UNTOUCHED! Karlsson glides with no strides the last 20 feet while Rust showed, not only in that situation what an honest backcheck effort looks like! By the way – Karlsson arrived about 2 seconds late for reaching the rebound – instead, we have to talk about Jary – really??
Since we have seen Karlsson believing dozens of times that he is deep down an F1 instead of a defender, one must assume this is simply his mental setup – period! Not hardness, no defensive pride, no grit! Crap like this is contagious and affects younger players if not stopped (see Rakkel's back check in the same situation). Pardon my French, but when defenders give up on their team I am more than disappointed.
Sullivan becomes an issue because even the best coach won't reach a constantly losing team…
They also don't have great prospects (even after getting a bunch)…they are average prospects…..Pickering is a good prospect ironically Hextall drafted him
Ponomarev has a problem; skill but low hockey IQ. He's not a two way center yet… that's why Carolina thought he was expendable. All the Canes players, especially centers, must play a two way game or they're not going to play, as in Bunting. Sullivan is doing the right thing for the team and Ponomarev by force feeding time on the ice for him; that way he either learns to play the correct way or he won't play. Hell, if I owned the Pens I would fire Dubas, elevate Sullivan to GM, hire Montgomery and tear it down.
Tired of hearing about the Bo-bo face the players play with especially the stars. That third line played with want-to last night and accairri. The rest of this team doesnāt care like they want you to think.
Things are coming to a head. There will be a fire sale soon. It will be a bloody purge. Itās years overdue. Sad to see it come to this. Iāve been a pens fan since 1967. š¢
I donāt understand why sully is so scared to call out EK. Heās making 10 million plus. Heās not even playing up tons contract of 3 million. Our Rookies looked good so far not great but good enough to make us enjoy a bit of this team. Great postgame as always Dan

Anyone know much about this upcoming draft class? Is the best rated guy a franchise leader? Gotta hope for something
Dubasā¦ā¦..

The first 10 minutes were grim

Very good but sad analysis!
Jary and the goalies are NOT the issue.

I don't care if they're the veterans or not they need to be healthy scratch to send the damn message

Karlsson and Malkin out there just collecting paychecks. disgusting, no respect for the game.
I like the POP lineā¦they have some POP!
ā¦and if it works, donāt fix it.

Replace dubas and clown coach with Mario and Jagr, Jagr coming back February anyhow,

We need the NHL equivalent to the NFL's Dan Cambell to motivate this team
Another 6-1 beating tonight. This team is complete šļø and stick a fork in them.
Former Edmonton Oil King Tristan Jarry to Edmonton for Stewart Skinner and Jeff Skinner.
Jarry for Elvis Merzlikins
A complete rebuild is needed. Fire the coach and GM.
