Is winning the division a MUST for the Jets?

  1. I think the Jets should try and win the division, let Colorado and Dallas beat each other up

  2. One thing here too. The Jets (old and new) have NEVER won their division. (I’m not including the Thrashers 2007 SE title). Winnipeg itself has never hung an NHL banner in the arena EVER

  3. Can you imagine if it were the Leafs who'd been sitting in 1st place the whole season with the best goalie? It would be 24/7 talk about them winning the cup. With Wpg, though, we get talking points about how the Jets need help winning in the first round.

No respect for the Jets, as usual.🙄

  4. Can an we give these sports pundits some time to make the case, is debating finished or our attention span 3:49 ? Please help the narrative

  5. As a Jets fan, yes they need to win the division. Too many wasted years, no banners of any kind, always fizzling out and shitting the bed down the stretch with a bad losing streak. This is the year to win. Too many free agents this summer and the team will not be the same next year. They need to give the fans something this year.

  6. Bettmans RIDICULOUS playoff seeding, rewards teams based on their GEOGRAPHY rather than regular season performance. Even Crosby said it is totally ridiculous.

  7. 0:18 But is it essential? It’ll be nice if the Jets do but plenty of examples exist of teams that win their divisions, but then go onto lose their opening-round series. On that count, I may have more to say a bit later in response to one or more other posts in response to the TSN video clip in question.

  8. We need to win in the playoffs. It doesn’t really matter where we finish, this team has to raise its level of play or they won’t win a round.

  9. Yes. And I would say it's even more important to finish first in the West. You want to see one of Cgy/Van/STL/UTA in Round 1 and give Vegas or Edmonton the task of the fourth place team in the Central. You hope you can win that series against any of the above teams in four or five games and have whoever is in the 2-3 series in the Central beat the heck out of each other for six or seven games and get a tired team in Round 2.

Regarding rest for Hellebuyck, absolutely essential. I would start Comrie once a week starting in February because, unlike the rest of the goalies on playoff teams in the Central, Hellebuyck is not getting two weeks off next month.

  10. Jets have been 1st or 2nd in the league all year!
Still not even in the top 6 in odds to win the cup?
They were the best defense team last year and looking like the same this year.
Helly in net, I am not understanding this no respect!

  11. Is this the woman who does the color commentary for NHL 25? She sounds familiar.

  12. they dont need to win the division as no matter who they play is tough in the west, much tougher than the east, but First place would be great
