Expected a Third for Taylor Hall with retaining. Just one more Million in compare instead of 50% of Halls. Not a too much to cry about. Made Hall a favor as he goes to 'Canes, good team.

I really don’t think GM’s take less in a trade so they can remind a team down the road “hey we took less two years ago now do us a solid”. That’s not happening.
To me, what’s key here is, Rantinen is out of Colorado, thus any loyalty to them at season’s end is over. Depending on the Canes cap situation, they may not be able to sign him for next year. This opens the door wide for the Hawks to swoop in next year and sign him. And it won’t cost them any players or prospects.

A lot of Kyle Davidson's trades for draft picks have been to facilitate the other team's trade agenda. Davidson knows what he is doing in trying to fix the Blackhawk' rebuild. Now the Blackhawk are bringing young players up from the minors. Guys Davidson drafted.

It's hilarious how many people are incapable of understanding this trade.. The Hawks basically got a 2nd round pick for Hall.. Look, a contenders 2nd round pick is only going to be a handful of draft slots higher than this 3rd – so for all intents and purposes – the Hawks got a 2nd for Hall.. What's the real difference between drafting 61st overall (2nd round pick) and 65th (3rd round pick)??… Look, the Hawks could even use the 3rd round pick acquired in this deal and package it up with a 4th or 5th and move up to the top of the 2nd round, but even if they use it – there are still going to be 2nd round (and possibly first round) prospects available at that spot (60-65th overall) because there always is… I mean the Hawks essentially bought their own 3rd round pick back…..In reality, unfortunately the only "loser" in this deal is Connor Bedard because he has NO ONE on his level to play with for the rest of the season, and the Hawks HAVE TO do something about that this summer – they HAVE TO sign a superstar talent that can form chemistry with Bedard to make one of the better first lines in the league, and who knows, perhaps it will be Rantaanen?? me personally – I think Kane is the PERFECT fit for Bedard, but obviously he's not a long-term solution, but he would certainly be ideal, moreover it would be nice to see him score his 1400th point and 500th goal where it all began – and my position on Kane has NOTHING to do with the past and nothing to do with the "old Hawks" but rather what would help Bedard NOW and what would make this team better NOW, and Kane would certainly help the team but moreover his style of play and hockey IQ would complement Bedard PERFECTLY.. I mean Kane's playmaking ability and Bedards shot and vice-versa would be insane… And again, this has nothing to do with the past and everything to do with the here and now.. Because I know some poster reading this is going to pop-in and tell me to "let the past go" despite the fact I've been a Hawks fan since the early 80's, so I've seen a lot of teams come and go… With this team if Kane DID come back HE would be the "newcomer" – the new guy in the room – just the new guy with old ties….
Taylor Hall at 6 Million a year was still a bad deal deal to begin with! You can blame Kyle Davidson for that goof!
The commentators r fluffing this crap. Y make stuff so complicated, just trade people for people. Next year, the 3rd round could be another loser as they have picked over and over. I knew they were going to continue to lose and be close to last place when they traded DeBrincat. I don't c an end 2 this. Time to re-re- build starting at the TOP…
