Miller still atop Trade Bait list, plus latest on Jets and Leafs

Canucks forward J.T. Miller and Islanders forward Brock Nelson are ranked No. 1 and 2, respectively, on the latest TSN Trade Bait Board, while Elias Pettersson has slid down. TSN Hockey Insider Chris Johnston joins SportsCentre to discuss what we should make of Pettersson’s fall down the list, if he gets the sense that the Canucks could be pressured into making a move soon, and which centre targets make the most sense for the Jets and Maple Leafs.

  1. every team wants Miller's snarl & skill….NO TEAM wants his seemingly un-coachable EGO … this is the delay we're witnessing for a trade, teams are aware of this guy's possible "negative impact" on the dressing room …. something you can never dismiss or take lightly
and yes, teams' are making offers…but they are very lowball offers, cuz they know Miller's value is precarious at best

  2. Even when he's referring to the Jets he still calls them the Leafs. Is there ever a time when the Toronto media doesn't have Leafs on the brain?

  3. I know it’s an issue older than his tenure, but can Tochette not control his room? Does he give too much room to certain guys, and comes down harder on others?

  4. There is room for poetical, and analytical minds to stand 🧍‍♀️ on the same quayside. We can appreciate the beauty of the glittering path below the setting sun, and enjoy reading the clues in its form.

  5. Lmfao “Rutherford can help them get through this” buddy Jim is part of the reason they are in this problem. Guy is making an absolute mess of things just like he did in Carolina.

  6. Trade Miller to the Oilers where he will be appreciated. Get him away from the Vancouver virus which is their media and fans. Negative bs that he has been pulled through sucks and wears on you. Tochet has lost the room or they got some bad apples in there, its obvious its a mess.

  7. How do you trade JT Miller? You would have to get equal value, it would seem to me. Miller is a great player and team leader who is currently having a down year, but with the right teammates in a new situation he could roar back to being one of the top offensive players in the NHL, as he has been for the last several season. Put Miller on the Oilers with their current lineup as they go for the Stanley Cup —- he'd be a huge plus. Or put him on any similar team heading for the playoffs. So if Canucks deal him then they are going to have to get equal value, and I just don't see who or what that is right now.

  8. calling this "trade bait" is dehumanizing and disrespectful if you think about if for like 5 seconds

  9. I would believe there are 31 teams that want Miller…. bet there wouldn't be 5 that would ask for HUGHES…. what does that tell ya ???? As far as the Laffs… nobody will fit there and nobody is wanting to go there… Laffs won't see 2nd round.

  10. Brad Treliving sucks at making trades this is why he doesn't make any. He signs some players in the summer and that's it. Then he does nothing all year. When trade deadline gets close and the cost to acquire a player is at a high then he comes out of his hole. Treliving will contact everyone trying to trade a 6th round pick for a top 2 D or a 2nd line center. He offers other teams next to nothing so not to many teams waste their time with this guy.
