The Athletic revealed today that the NHL executive committee is planning for Gary Bettman’s retirement. He spoke to the committee ahead of last month’s Board of Governors meeting and let them know that it should be on their radar. 1. He will never die. Gary Bettman will never die, because evil never dies. Gary Bettman is evil. He brought to a head the ruin of hockey – exodusing out of Canada, stifling the game, being an absolute crony sycophant for his masters. he'll be here another 20 and in 2045 they will make heads in jars viable and that will be that forever.

  2. YESSSSSSSSSS!!!!! ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ

  3. Bettman's legacy will always be a strange one. He brought a lot of new teams and eventual success stories to the league. Vegas, as much as we hate them, is an absolute success and most of the new teams have stabilised into their new market…
Emphasis on most. Arizona will always be his greatest failure without a doubt. Atlanta too but they eventually bounced back in winnipeg. But he will always be associated with Arizona with just how much bullshit that franchise went through

  4. Probably become a Canadian national holiday and I've seen the a article few months ago that owner's have already begun the search for when Bettman retirement happens

  5. PHEW Well, good thing we have so many of his โ€œfriendsโ€ still in charge! Otherwise we might actually have had a chance of a progressive and successful league! Dodged a bullet!๐Ÿ˜‚

  6. I imagine seconds after retiring, George Paros will be injecting Gary with the Goblin Formula in a stasis chamber, and he will return as the Green Goblin.

  7. Leopold going off script and revealing Bettman's retirement is the kind of competency we've come to expect from today's NHL.

  8. As the Rock would say โ€ฆ.. Finally Bettman is back to the unemployment line โ€ฆ take you retirement money shine it up real nice and shove it up you rudy poo candy apple @$$

  9. Idk, i think we're putting a lot of faith in the competency of the NHL to say they dont do things by mistake

  10. I like how you report on the business side of the NHL as well ๐Ÿ˜Ž but one request… no more deploying the Zebra jersey please ๐Ÿ˜

  11. So in a couple of years we'll have a Canadian team winning the Cup for the first time since Bettman got in chair lol

  12. All these "maybe a Canadian team can win a cup now" comments are hilarious. Maybe start with some competent ownership/management for anyone of the Canadian teams

  13. COME ON!

    CELEBRATE GOOD TIMES ๐Ÿพ ๐Ÿฅ‚

    Celebrate…and have a good time..

    CELEEEEEBRATE GOOD TIMES COME ON!!!

  14. First: that jersey looks awful on you my guy ๐Ÿ˜‚
Second: I saved a clip of Steve from a few years back screaming in horror at the prospect of Bill Daly replacing Bettman, guess I'll go fetch it again ๐Ÿ˜‚
Third: How likely one of the two following scenarios would be: either this CBA agreement is Bettman's final middle finger to the league, OR WORSE, another lockout happens, both players and management aren't happy about it, they kick Bettman out (thinking enough is enough) and have the new commmissionner finish the negotiations? Hope it doesn't come to those two scenarios but I can picture it too well ๐Ÿ™

  15. Wow! Maybe a Canadian team will then have fairer chance to win the Cup? Like, if the cap didn't punish places with high tax rates?

  16. Heโ€™s done some things that make me question his position as commissioner, but the fact that he loves the game so much heโ€™s looking for a suitable replacement years before he actually leaves deserves major props
