The New York Rangers being one of the top contending teams over the last few season they’ve used the trade deadline to constantly add in talented played but who are normally always on expiring contracts. This deadline with the team not looking nearly as good as in the past maybe they look to go in a different direction with their trades which is what we talked about in today’s video.

As a fan how do i shake the concern if a move is made at deadline this team won't pout again that my friend got traded and stop trying . I want to be happy that we are playing great but my confidence is broken I don't trust most of the top 6.
this team is still fundamentally flawed and giving up too many high danger chances. The difference is that Igor is covering up for those deficiencies which has always been the case. Henrik made a career out of it. We should not be buyers at the deadline. We should be looking at how we can salvage as much value out of our pending UFAs. Unless you think Sam Carrick and Bolden are guys you want to sign and keep…but are they? Trading away Smith and Lindgren have to happen. Making room for young players to step has to happen. Look at Kakko, he gets the room and reps and expanded roles have allowed him to be the player we all though we were drafted. I don't trust Drury to do the smart thing though. NY has too long a history of squandering prospects and picks in favor of signing aging veterans to too much money.
Rangers destroyed a good Flyers team last night, after annihilating the Senators.
Guys most criticized by many of us – Igor, Miller, Chytl – were the three stars.
The new guys this year – Carrick, Borgen, Riley – are contributing.
Fourth line very formidable.
Maybe now the "gotta desperately make a bad trade" hysteria will lessen.
Right now, The Rangers have been playing better but they still give up way too many high quality scoring chances per game. Igor has been the best player this year, for the Rangers and it's not even close. Even if the Rangers win a wildcard spot, which I had them in before the season started. Igor is going to be out of gas and I expect another early playoff exit. However, if Drury actually makes some good trades around the trading deadline, this team could make a deeper run into the playoffs but as they are now, no shot they make it past the second round. I want to see Phil Housley fired and an "ACTUAL" defensive minded, defensive coach on this Rangers coaching staff. Housley wasn't exactly known for being defensive during his career as a player.

2025 draft is definitely not "loaded" lol. Top heavy maybe. But it's very shallow overall as a draft class.
I could care less what Kakko is doing with the Kraken. That trade looks better & better to me every day. Rangers scouts loved Borgen & I can see why. He's a really good defenseman & we get a 3rd & 6th to boot. Vaak looks really good with Schneider out there too. This Rangers scouting staff is one of the best I've seen in years.. Mancini, Rempe, Edstrom are all late round picks. Noah Laba is a later rounder too & he's up for the Hobey with Perreault. Don't sleep on him. Gave up way too many chances last night. Miller drives me crazy. He was responsible for that three on one break goal last night, going too deep into the O-zone & losing the puck. During the bad times I remember a coach remarking this was one of the Rangers main defensive problems. Then there was another play where there is a battle for the puck in his off corner & he skates over watching & leaving the slot totally unprotected. He's clueless! Even in the post game interview he could say what was different with the D play now. Nothing he says! SMH!
Will Borgen has been great and the reason the D looks decent. But… Chris Drury is so F' ing stupid, he will not sign him to an extension just as he did not do with several players he traded for before becoming a free agent (Frank Vitrano, Niko Makala to name 2 obvious) Ugh… they did not sign for a ton of money. Drury is dumb, thus, he won't sign Borgen. Instead, he'll give the money to someone who CAN'T play D like Miller
Anything less than a conference final will be a fail. They began as cup contenders. Slipped badly. But not deathly. Look at Edmonton's start last season. Then Cup finalists. It's crunch time for the Rangers. *(now read my first sentence again).
