Guessing Rantanen wouldn’t re-sign, but regardless this is an underwhelming package. How did they not manage to get a top prospect or 1st round pick?

bunkers, unhinged, why did aves do this? i would of paid rantanen, they would of being better off. Necas and drury or the rumored kotkaniemi is no even close. they will never get a player like rantanen back. so what if makar wants 14 mil or over 12.6 that mackinnon makes? trade him too? pay the man, rantanen is a killer in the regular season and playoffs. bad decision in my book.
What's Chicago up to if this 3rd round pick is this valuable i think they are going to be trying to offer sheet some one and carloina cleans up because they know that game

Here's the trade in the nutshell – Avs got rid of one of the best players in NHL and brought in a pair of below-average losers that will only drag us further down.
This is one of the worst trades in the entire history of Colorado Avalanche, fact!
I would say the Matty Tkachuk trade had the most shock value, just because of the pieces involved.
I'd say Hertl to Vegas was the last 'we didn't see this coming' deal.
