Draisaitl sounds off on McDavid suspension

Leon Draisaitl believes Connor McDavid and Tyler Myers’ three-game suspensions were ‘too much’ for both parties and doesn’t agree with the league holding out its stars. Domino’s That’s Hockey discuss Draisaitl’s comments.

  1. This chick talking about Drai "stepping up" is crazy. He can't step up any more but it's not about the suspension, it's about what LED to the cross check and NON CALLS OF THESE DAMN REFS!! Bettmen needs to be given the boot, his disdain for Canadian teams is palapable.

  2. Garland did what he had to do, so did Connor, and his illegal crosscheck got him a suspension. Pretty simple. It should have been a penalty, but refs miss penalties all the time in hockey. This is definitely not the first time something like this has happened.

  3. Fool , the referring has been a joke! MacDavid is too fast and too good for the people to not hold him and slough foot him !

  4. 3 games is not too much. You can't go around and 2 hand cross check a player in the head. Reilly got 5 games against Ottawa. So this is satisfactory for macdavid and Myers.

  5. as per end of vid… crazy how the Washington Caps are top of the league simultaneously with Trump freeing America… must be some crazy awesome energy around that area right now 🙂 🙃🙏

  6. he's gotten away with three severe chicken wing elbows including the one a week ago, this suspension was overdue

  7. As much as I believe Connor McDavid deserved a suspension of at least one game for that crosscheck to the face of Conor Garland during last weekend’s Oilers-Canucks’ game, McDavid’s absence also was going to leave a void in the lineup. To be fair, even WITH McDavid in the lineup during that weekend game, the Oilers still lost that game 3-2 in regulation, the same score by which the Oilers would on Tuesday Mountain Time lose to the Capitals. In the latter of the two games, Leon Draisaitl scored the game-opening goal and assisted on the only other Oiler goal.

  8. Just drop the gloves already, McDavid… this is what makes Mackinnon a better all-around player he'll hit you and drop the gloves after… don't get me wrong here, garland is a pos and should at least be fined for unsportsmanlike…Mackinnon has actually fought him before when he was on the coyotes… Mackinnon was also suspended for returning his helmet to him in style, might I add… but McDavid has had some questionable plays, some very recent like that chicken wing elbow, which caused a concussion and didn't get suspended for it just a game prior… so he got what he deserved, PERIOD… NICE TO SEE HE DIDN'T GET A FREE PASS AGAIN…

  9. McDavid is a joke. The guy has been the Golden child his entire life. I would have given 10 games. He is like 5 year old.
Fuck McDavid. So sick of McDavid. If he was good he would have won the cup.
The dude needs a reality check. I know because I worked for Erie otters for a season with him on the team. Guy is a total tool, not friendly, not a beauty. Completely all about him and treated his teammates like shit. McDavid is the definition of what. Hockey player shouldn't be.

  10. The Oilers need a tough guy to protect McDavid, just like Gretzky was protected . Garland would be in the hospital right now!!!

  11. Does protecting a "superstar" extend to someone holding him down now? What a ridiculously silly thing to say. In Edmontons team and fans view this terrible holding incident somehow should allow McDavid to get up and crosscheck another player in the side of the head? How can any sensible person make this arguement? Protect ALL players from dirty or dangerous plays, like, oh I don't know, say a cross check to the head. Sure I am all for that. Can someone make this make sense?

  12. Maybe put ur arm up 10 seconds into a hold or interference penalty then retaliation mite not happen. Damn refs

  13. All these Edmonton fans forget how the Sedins were molested every game but go figure, no crosschecking penalties. He's a whiny little baby. Draisitl is no better.
