Have the Montreal Canadiens organization turned the corner when it comes to the reputation of playing for the Montreal Canadiens? Is a NHL star player telling people he wants to come to Montreal because of Patrik Laine?

Nick Ehlers is money in the bank and he should enhance team chemistry with his Laine connection. (Seems to good to be true).
Definitely go for Ehlers if he wants to play here. My question, with Demidov arriving and if Habs sign Ehlers, which of the current wingers becomes expendable? Armia probably doesn't get re-signed then which frees up a slot however who else goes? Heineman? Andy & Gally contracts are difficult to move and if Newhook moves to centre there is no room at centre for Beck or Kapanen if Evans re-signs. Slaf, Caufield & Laine aren't going anywhere.
If Ehlers is acquired perhaps Newhook and Heineman are included in a package with a draft pick for a right "D"? That results in Hughes trading another player he acquired in a trade. In any case, things are becoming very interesting.
hey Shaun thanks for the vid. Your right , very exciting to be a Habs fan right now!
keep the videos coming!
Yes please, amazing to hear that players now want to come to the Habs
If Laine, who hasn't even signed an extension yet, is really trying to convince him, and if Ehlers is really interested in coming despite currently being on one of the top teams in the NHL, I think that says a lot about Montreal, but also Winnipeg. The Habs organization is really becoming exciting. It may no longer be about the tax issue or language issue. Montreal is becoming the city for players to go to because it's simply a great place to play in, because hockey is a culture here.
Edit: And i think there is space for him too. I am not too certain about Dvorak and Armia's future in Montreal, and potentially Jake Evans. So I think it's definitely possible. My only worry is how will this affect the chemistry of lines that have become so solid. But sometimes, you just gotta take these risk, and eventually, I think it will pay off.
IF he signs in Montreal could hat be considered tampering? Habs need to resign Laine first. He seems happy. Would he take a discount and term like Evans? Same $ as Suzuki. Over 7 or 8 years?
Id love Ehlers. But wonder whonare Habs losing. Inthink they need a skill guy like Ehlers zbut also a grinder/tough guy that can put 15 in a season. Can Florian or Tuch be that?
I can't find the source of Frank's quote. Those fan sites are known to make shit up. Would be nice if they linked the source, but that's not their game.
Since when did language become an issue for players?
Would love it more to poach big-role players from Nashville or other U.S. teams – would be better than skimming off fellow Canadian teams especially with the Jets doing so well…
I'd like a Yanni Gourde style player. FYI Monty 13 goals last 3 games. If Dobés comes out with another strong performance
I think we have a Goalie swap
Every UFA uses MTL as leverage to eventually sign in an American, low-tax market. I wouldn’t read too much into it.
If they sign Ehlers, where do you play him and with who? If you play him with Laine that means you need to move Newhook down to the third or trade him. Where do you play Demidov? Do you play him with Suzuki? If so what do you do with Slafkovsky? Interesting situation, its like having a thousand small piece puzzle without the cover for direction.
Ehlers Dach Laine would be a rediculous second line following Demigod Suzuki and Caufield
