Auston Matthews said the home fans in Toronto were a little quiet after Ryan Reaves’ tilt and all game for that matter. Why is the Maple Leafs’ home rink on the quieter side? Domino’s That’s Hockey takes a closer look.
Making tickets affordable wouldn't work. You have to give a hockey knowledge test, maybe ask them to shoot a ball on a net to see if they have ever held a hockey stick before they can buy season tickets or prime seats. The corporate culture inside the ACC or whatever they named it this week is embarrassing Toronto's real hockey fans.
this convo becomes moot when the playoffs come around. the fans love a tilt. i was playing in a darts league while this game was on, when this fight happened everyone stopped playing to watch. give em hell reavo, still the heavyweight champ of the league!
Toronto Maple Leaf fans have never a loud crowd. Going way back to Maple Leaf Gardens days. I watched the Stanley Cup Finals last year, Edmonton Oilers fans are so loud and rowdy you can barely hear the announceer.
I think it means he's passionate, and it's a good thing. It means he's intense too, and it's what you expect from a star hockey player. Toronto as an organization does seem like one that only cares about making money. Maybe Matthew's wants more. Their typical fans like to see those games like against Montreal where they pile on goal after goal, but they don't like the grind and winning those triple OT playoff games where it's 1-1. They are tire of hockey by that point anyways. They don't wanna grind it out in the offs. They wanna show their buddy that they got a ticket or something just for status maybe. There is no hunger or thirst for winning, and that's why they don't hold the franchise accountable beyond just a few entertaining games, like the Montreal game
Well if they pass the second round than yea but not much to cheer for since 1967 sorry but he's right cus all the rich folk take the seats. True blue can't afford to get in
he didnt say it was on the quieter side all the time dont use this as an excuse to say that he said should have been louder after the fight that's all he said not an excuse for you to go off with this about the rink being quiet and complaining about fans now.
Don't call out the fans. Call out Trudeau for making the common folk even poorer that they barely have anything left after paying for things they actually need to survive.

It's the same in the Premier League in England Old Trafford is very quiet.
The loud fans are the blue collar ones that cant afford to go to a game so you reap what you sow Leafs.
I agree with Auston and good on him for saying it and backing the boys he's leading
Leafs fans should call out the leafs for losing every year
Not a problem in Edmonton
Matthews is right though. Leafs arena is one of the quietest and deadest in all the NHL and has been for years.

The fans knew Reaves lost the fight, and it was embarrassing
Corporate silence.
Ppl are such snowflakes. AM34 was absolutely right to call out the quiet fans.
He should stfu and focus on his game. Not a captain.
omg…don't stand so close to Sarah you guys.
it was a stupid fight…unnessary
I was there on Monday and it was Lit ! Lastnight they were quiet
The fans are saving it for May and June. I'm one of the saps who's been here waiting since 1967. Austin wants noise? Get to the finals.

He's not wrong, but the fans weren't the reason they've lost early in the playoffs year after year.

Real hardcore fans have been priced out longtime ago.

Morgues git more life sometimes than leaf games. 😅
I fucking love Matthews saying this.
Let’s she what him and the fans say during the playoffs.
