also why does every new sports franchise feel the need to have a non plural name. most of them sound horrible. (kraken is great)

Utah resident here hoping for Mammoths! That’s been my favorite all along and would work well with the current color scheme. Not to mention an awesome logo and mascot, and not so similar to Colorado!
Utah should stay Utah Hockey Club. I was always a fan of Europe's soccer teams that had F.C. (football club) in their name and I think more NA sports teams should try it out. Utah H.C. is a pretty cool and unique name imo

I'd agree that Mammoth be more family oriented if Yeti doesn't work out. I heard they even have issues now with Utah Hockey Club name. The Vegas Golden Knights had the same issue, but worked it out. I think if they wanted to use Yeti, is work with the ceo of the Yeti brand to share the name and profits. Cuz if that's a more popular name, and if they cannot trademark Utah, they should be creative with the area and just pick the city their stadium is in and use that name.

There is a NLL Colorado Mammoth so that name might get denied if they say no to letting Utah HC use it.

I hate the name Mammoth. Doesn't flow and will be a mouthful for announcers. I originally didn't like any of the names but Yeti grew on me. I like the suggestion of someone else here of Stingers. Logo could be a wicked wasp.
Are they REALLY worried about people confusing a hockey team and coolers? They're totally cool with a hockey team ripping off the U.S. Army in team name and colors (and, YES, the US Army Golden Knights play hockey) , but THIS is the line. 😂😂😂😂 WOW!!!
So Utah just going to rip Colorado’s professional lacrosse names. Outlaws(folded no longer active team) or Mammoths (NLL)

Rather have outlaws than Mammoth. my favorite choice was Venom but in all honestly all of the names are bad… And I also do not like their color scheme and hope that that changes. its the same as the jets. Come up with something original. Team goes for the amazing Yotes jerseys to completely unoriginal generic trash.

I agree with the others on here that brought up the Utah Mammoth as an alternative to them being called the Utah Yetis !! But yea…even which one that they are called,i hope they can get them a damn name because calling yourself a hockey club is such a generic name and doesn't have the same pop as actual having a name !!
Also there are similar names to the same cryptid that would work..like the Utah Yowies or the Utah Yeren !!
Yetis should be passed, then Utah should have the cup brand as their jersey sweater. Would be cooler than the Milk and Oreo combo in Toronto.
Also, Utah Outlaws has a nice ring to it.
